Great Product that did what was promised
This wireless extender worked perfectly upon easy set -up. The instructions come with a simple set up process to link it to your current wireless network and after that set-up, the extender seems to be doing its job.Set-up: The product was easy to sync to our current network to act as an extender, and has a simple portal to manage the settings. It does take some minor technical know-how to understand what you are looking at, but set-up should be very straight forward. Simply choose your network, enter the password, and the extender does the rest.Use: the device plugged in simply and the indicator lights do a good job of helping position the device and assure that all bands are operational with just a glance. Once set-up, it just extends the network. No complicated network settings or changes to make.Recommendation: If you are looking for a good wireless extender this is a great option.

Works great with long distance reach
I purchased this for our campsite. We have Wi-Fi at our campsite, but our modem is pretty far away from our RV so we purchased this to get a signal. It is receiving a signal for at least 2 to 300 feet away. We are very pleased with it even though it was refurbished it still works great I recommend this brand For any Wi-Fi extender you need

Overpriced Junk
Doesn't really work. Not terribly difficult to set up, but doesn't function as expected.Devices that are two feet from my router will insist on connecting to this device, which is across my house. Takes a lot of time and troubleshooting to fix. Then the device will randomly disconnect or drop SSIDs and need to be unplugged and plugged back in.Then it "took over" my network, and when I was trying to log in to my router, I was being taken to a login page for this extender instead.Save your money.

works as advertised . Glitchy / testy connecting to my wifi but works
It takes a few times connecting to my wifi to get it to connect, but when it does ...it extends my wifi to where I need it.

This was a renewed WIFI extender
When it works it's great but I have to unplug it and plug it in every few days to get a single. Next time I'll buy a new one.

A very good mesh extender. I am very happy with the speed and distance this device reaches.
Initially I thought I was going to have to send this device back. It lacked much in the way of documentation. Per instructions I contacted Amazon "before you send back" support number. They took my initial statement then passed me on to NETGEAR support. We went through a way more extensive process than the plug an play instructions contained in the box. Here I have to say this was a refurnished device and that may be the reason there was not much in the way of documentation. I have not had any issues since I have it up and running. PROs excellent 90 day support from both Amazon and NETGEAR. The NETGEAR tech gal was patient, professional and and knew the product very well. CON The next call will not be free. The next one will be after the 90 days free support. Hopefully I will not need them when I switch internet provider, or install my own router, or have some other network failure.

Take bad reviews with a critical eye.
I was very wary about purchasing this extender with all of the bad reviews. If it wasn’t on Amazon, with there return policy, I would have passed. Happily the issues described by other reviewers weren’t present for me.There are different ways to set up the extender. I tried the setup on the instructions, away from the router in the system menu, and it didn’t seem to work properly. I reset the system and moved closer to my router and used WPS to set it up and it worked perfectly. Once the setup was complete I moved it to its permanent location. The extender has worked as advertised and I would highly recommend the refurbished version. I can’t speak to the issues other people had with set up and possibly bad units as mine works well. I worked also suggest to do a reset right out of the box, that might have been my first issue with the manual setup.

There are better solutions
I purchased this to extend the signal on an existing Nighthawk AC 1900 router. The Nighthawk placement was not good, but couldn't be moved, so an extender seemed like an easy solution. I placed this extender between the router and the bedroom with a dead spot. Prior to installing the extender I could receive a signal (-73dBm) in the bedroom, but WiFi speeds were effectively zero. After installing the extender, my signal improved a bit and I was able to achieve download speeds between 14-26 Mbps. This wasn't consistent enough to get decent streaming on the TV. In addition, the speeds in my kitchen dropped by nearly half (from 121 Mbps before to 67-75 Mbps)!I set this up both to repeat the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals and also configured it using the mesh capability with a single SSID. Performance was better by repeating both bands rather than using the mesh. However, this created problems between the extender and my original router and phones/tablets had trouble staying connected; the only viable solution was to use the "EXT" SSIDs that it will create and have FOUR separate SSIDs in the home. This just wasn't going to work.I ended trying an eero 3-pack (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WMLPSRL/) next. Speeds in the bedroom jumped up to 65 Mbps (from 24 Mbps with the NETGEAR). The eero system was about $30-$50 more than the NETGEAR extender at the time I purchased. For the slight added cost, I got a much more reliable/stable network and faster speeds throughout the home. Just scrap your old setup and buy a new mesh system that's designed to work from the get-go.
