Surprisingly helpful!
This was prescribed for me by my podiatrist. I was not convinced they would actually help my foot heal, but after wearing the insert in my shoe for a week, the pain from my injury was almost 100% gone! Great product!!

Very helped for protecting old toe/foot injury
Broke my foot/first metatarsal (almost like a really excessive case of turf toe / hallux rigidus) and have had trouble with it since- if I bend it back too far like pushing off, it brings back that injury. I still like to play sports like volleyball so this has been a recurring problem. This insert has helped with that a lot- now I can play and not have to consciously think about protecting my foot. I do have to tighten my laces more (but I like them loose, usually) so I don't accidentally step out of them now that the bottom doesn't bend as much but it's not uncomfortable and a small price to pay. Make sure you get the right size- I got the one that says for women's size 8, I normally wear size 8 in most shoes but usually get 8.5 in sneakers and these are a TINY bit short in my athletic shoes (which are 8.5, to be fair!). I wanted to go under rather than over since you can't cut them, but I can't sometimes feel the edge at the very tip of my toes. I think the 8.5 might have been too long so probably I just need to scooch it up a hair. Having the shoe been more rigid had not been as uncomfortable as I feared and it has really helped prevent aggravating my old injury so I'm really pleased.

It squeaks!!
I am an avid runner and have a degree in sports medicine. This insole has made an amazing difference in my metatarsalgia and hallux rigidus. I’ve finally found something that really works. It’s feels great to have no pain. The only problem is that it squeaks when I run or walk? That has become annoying, but the product works! Is there a solution for this! Thanks

Women's Carbon Insoles
I read how to measure for the correct size and read all the reviews. A few people stated that the were stiff and they could not get them in their shoes at all or that they could not place the softer insoles over the top with them in because it was too tight on the toes. I think the key is to go down a size or so. I measured at a 9.25 for the length when standing with your heel against the wall and that would have been a woman's shoe size of 7.5-8. The next size down from the chart was a shoe size of 6-6.5. I ordered that. They are perfect and very comfortable with the softer insole on top of them. You have to really open up the shoe to get everything in place, then lace them as you like. I had to buy 2, the cost was $127.51.

May want to choose smaller size
This carbon fiber insole is as stiff as steel. The insoles are sized correctly and I purchased the same size as my shoe, however I had trouble getting it installed under the regular insole of my shoe as instructed. There were two problems. 1) after removing the regular insole and inserting the new insole all the way forward, it was hard to press the heel end into place because the shoe opening was too small. 2) The foot bed of my shoe was narrower than the width of this new insole, so the new insole floated above the foot bed. After reinserting the regular insole above the new insole, there was not enough room for my foot. You may consider purchasing a size or two smaller than your actual shoe size so that it correctly fits in your shoe bed under the regular insole and still have room to insert your foot.

Not for injury
It hurts beyond words. Maybe it’s better for a very specific condition but if you have an injury it will hurt even worse. So just in case there is an unknown to me reason for this particular insoles, I am rating it 3 not 1. Perhaps it could be 5 but only if it is specifically recommended for your unique situation and not causing you pain as it did in my case.

Very lightweight, very sturdy, great for stiffening your shoe
I bought this at the advice of my podiatrist who recommended a carbon fiber insole to help stiffen the shoe when I walk. After having surgery a few years ago my right foot has always been affected by a gait abnormality where I would put pressure on the side of the foot while walking. This issue sometimes causes my ankle to roll when depressing inside a normal shoe and with normal, more malleable, insoles. I learned to live with it and have gotten around with the issue but my podiatrist told me about carbon fiber insoles that help to keep the shoe stiffer which could help someone like me keep a more solid base while walking and prevent the ankle roll issue. And honestly, this may be one of the best purchases I made. It was less than half the price of what I would have had to pay using a medical supply store, and it does exactly what it should: provides a stiffer shoe and a more stable base. When underneath a regular insole, I don't even notice a comfort difference. It's so lightweight that there's no difference to the weight of the shoe either. It made such an instant difference for my issue and my only regret is not knowing about it sooner!

Make things worse.
Could not use this. It made my feet and toe hurt worse. I got it because of arthritis in big toe and stiff. This device was suppose to help. It did not at all.
