Needed Right Angle Strike
I needed a right angle strike for a hinky outstanding gate. Like others mentioned, the elbow is the weak link. If it doesn't last, I'll pay somebody gobs of money to spot weld the elbow on the next one.

Good quality
Overall, these latches are good quality in the long run. There is a weakness at the joint where the pin/bar connects to the screw area. The bar/pin will break off after a while. I continue to buy them because I haven’t found a brand brand that doesn’t have the weakness at the joint.

Just what was needed
Needed the 90 degree latch for a narrow gate along the side of the house. Worked great with easy install.

Strong latch
This is a strong gate latch. The design allows it to be installed where othes wouldn't work. I have a gate that spans the entire width of the opening between the house and the fence. As there is no gate post on the side opposite of the hinges the rod needs to affix to the side of the house which is perpendicular to the gate. All other gate latches i've seen the rod side needs to be inline with the gate.
