Instructions cover removal but not installation or use of the item. Seems fairly straightforward though - stick it to the door so it catches the door handle. Surprising that there isn’t only one arm as the upper one is fairly redundant since most door handles go through 90 degrees down then horizontal rather than through 180 degrees. The two arms also move independently of each other so the upper one can fold flush against the door. You need to pinch the round buttons to make the arms move, so this would probably stop the elderly and physically impaired as well as the young from operating it. Not the most aesthetically pleasing but that’s what you sacrifice to make things child safe.I had bought it to stop a collie from opening the door so their lack of opposable thumbs should mean it works. Will need to see how well the glue lasts against a dog trying to put their weight behind the handle though!

We purchased this item seven months ago to stop our cat escaping upstairs from the utility room where he sleeps in the night and waking us up. He is able to open a door with a lever handle and we thought this would be more effective than door wedges. It has worked really well in preventing him from escaping to the extent that he quickly stopped trying, providing a successful solution to the problem.

After looking at various kinds of locks like this on Amazon, I finally settled on this one. The 4-pack arrived and it was easy to install. It was easy to lock and unlock. I decided to show it to my wife and had her lock it while I stood outside the room and tried to turn the handle. On my first try of turning the handle from the outside, the lock broke. I am very disappointed! I didn't even turn it hard or violently, I just turned it and "pop" it broke into several pieces. I wouldn't buy this again. I tried to put it back together but it wouldn't go back. So, I tossed it in the trash and tried a second one from the four-pack. We will see if it lasts but I'm not very hopeful.

The product was great, does the job and fits easily. The only downside which has massively let this product down is the finish. Both myself and my partner have cut ourselves on this and considering its top stop children it's quite dangerous. One of the corners is jagged where the plastic hasn't been finished properly and it's really sharp. Now going to have to remove as it won't be long until our son will be able to touch that part and will end up cutting himself too. Massive let down on the product
