Luxurious
I absolutely love this stuff. I have ultra sensitive skin and break out when using the slightest fragrance. My skin is also oily so I have always had to use somewhat drying soaps to combat my complexion issues, leaving me with either itchy or patchy skin. My face has been even more of a struggle and I spent numerous years as a teen seeing dermatologists for the same issues. I have made my own, natural, facial scrubs and body products and had a fair amount of success in clearing my skin. My husband and I purchased these bars randomly one day at the store and they smelled so good, I used one. It made my skin feel so clean, soft, and moisturized that I took a second shower the very same day, just to use the soap! Ha! (People who can use any soap and have normal skin will not understand this, I'm sure). When no breakout occurred, I continued to use the soap and began washing my face with it at night. To my surprise, my skin cleared up all over, despite pregnancy hormones. I got a little bolder and bought the body wash form (which I could never use in the past) and my skin felt even softer. I have now been using this product for 5 months, through pregnancy and postpartum, and have had zero issues. If I use a different soap and start to break out I simply switch back to the Dove and the breakout doesn't worsen, and once cleared, stays away with the Dove. My skin is no longer itchy or dry and I can wear as much makeup as I want and not worry about dealing with the breakout later. I'm not suggesting this as an acne product, just suggesting all other products tend to irritate my sensitive skin and cause breakouts while this one does not. The smell is lovely, soft, and feminine without being floral or strong in a way that men wouldn't want to use. It just smells sweet and clean. Kind of reminds me of those soft, sweet, lavender fabric softener scents (only not lavender). I recommended this product to all of my friends.

Definitely purchasing again
I love the smell of this, it's lovely but also not too strong. Nice and light smell and leaves the skin soft and clean feeling. Doesn't leave a dry feeling like other bar soaps do.

It’s good for a bar of soap
OK, I would say this bar of soap is one of the better bar soaps. I’ve met it smells good. It works good. It cleans like soap does. The only downside is that it is a bar of soap so if you leave it anywhere wet, it starts melting and that’s really annoying but you know it’s not dove’s fault it’s just cause he’s a bar of soap, but I would say it’s good not the best but it does smell good. It doesn’t clean the best in the world, but it’s OK thank you

My alergy prone skin approves
I'm allergic to soaps, outside of buying handmade soaps, the only one's I can use are Dove. I stuck with the Sensitive Skin bars the past few years, but I needed a change in the shower. I'm a scent fanatic hense the occasional splurge on handmade soap, but I can't afford that long term.So I tried the Dove Shea & Vanilla a few months ago. Loved it & so does my skin. This Peony one is a winner for me. It's not an overwhelming scent, it's quite soft after & doesn't conflict with my perfumes.I'll be getting Dove Rose soon.

Excellent for Dry Skin. Have used for decades. Will never change to another soap.
Have used and loved Dove for decades now. I'm and happy that they came up with something different for people with eczema-prone skin. It's non-drying and has always left my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. I'm 64 with extremely dry and crepey skin. I wish Dove made a soap for 'mature' skin with EXTRA moisturizing cream.I purchased a whole bunch of Dove Beauty Bar soaps in different scents and formulas from Amazon, that I have enough to last me for about 2 years. Not all formulas are available everywhere and in 2-packs so that I could try to see which ones I liked best. Most were available in 6 & 8 bars. So now I'm stuck with a whole bunch of them in same formula and scent that is going to last for a long time. I also LOVE the bar soaps versus Dove plastic bottles, as there is no waste going into the landfills. From what I read, most plastic bottles are NOT BEING RECYCLED. They end up in the oceans, litter on land, or landfills which may take up to 500 years to decompose. Personally, I want to do as much as I can not to prevent plastics from ending up in our oceans.I will continue to use Dove for the rest of my life.

I’m a soap maker who was curious about dove
I am a maker of cold process soap. I like checking out other peoples soap and everyone raves about dove but even before starting to make soap I never tried dove bar soap.First, the smell- it is okay initially but the after scent has an undertone of something strange or perhaps “gone bad” or idk almost stale smelling. It also smells like most dove products like the deodorants and stuff it’s not very unique or memorable. More of a soap smell.Second- how it feels. I will admit, it has a thick and creamy lather. Lol. Lots of suds. It’s pretty good with bubbles- I’ll tell you that. That being said, my hands felt stripped afterwards whereas my handmade soap leaves my hands feeling clean but not stripped. My husband even commented that his hands felt dry after using the dove bar. My hands also feel a little tight. Maybe it’s because I’m used to cold process versus a detergent based bar? Idk.All in all it’s not a bad bar. It’s very inexpensive so if you have a large family and are on a very tight budget I can understand how buying these in bulk would be a decent option. Keep in mind they are small. I can’t imagine these bars lasting very long they also seem to melt pretty fast in use. However I still am a believer that cold process is better (not necessarily mine! This isn’t a plug for my business, just an honest opinion) just handcrafted cold process in general. The last thing I’ll say though- and this is the honest truth- my scents are wayyyyy better than this lol. I was not really impressed with the smell at all.
