Simple rice cooker with stainless steel bowls—flawless operation!
My 20 year old fancy fuzzy-logic rice cooker, which still worked perfectly, had a bowl which was non-stick, and the material had been flaking off despite my never using metal utensils on it. I looked everywhere for a replacement bowl which was NOT non-stick, including the unhelpful manufacturer, who kept telling me there were no PFAS in it, something I found hard to believe given its age. Lot of others were looking for non-coated stainless steel bowls too (to judge by Reddit’s “rice cooker” sub), with no success. All the bowls are apparently slightly different in size, so not really interchangeable. Measuring might not help as the lip may be the wrong thickness, etc— infuriating! And to top it off, it had always been too big for my 2 person household, so I wanted something smaller. I cleaned my $200 machine thoroughly and took it to the thrift store. After looking at a LOT of small, simple rice cookers, and finding only a few with stainless steel bowls, I bought this one. It’s pretty small, but makes plenty for 2 people, including more for the next day. It’s fast. It does its job perfectly. And if you’ve left it to warm a little too long and get any sticking, an over night soak deals with it;of do as I do and include a glut of olive oil or a bit of butter as it cooks, and you’ll have just about no sticking at all!I’ve used it for brown rice, mostly, but also white rice, hulled barley and quinoa. All great.I would buy this again in an instant, and will recommend it to everyone. It’s a very basic, SIMPLE rice cooker, and so much better for everyday use than the monster with its computer brain which looked like it had just landed from another galaxy, took up a lot of space, and was shedding non-stick coating into my food. Sometimes less IS more!

Great and no plastic or polymers flaking off
I like it.SimpleGlass lidNice size that doesn't take up a lot of spaceNice stainless pot that I don't have to worry abt some anti-stick coating flaking off and ending up who knows where. When done, I use wooden spatulas to keep from scratching the stainless and then soak the pot in water to loosen the leftover rice that stuck to the bottom and sides. Cleans fairly easily all things considered.

what I needed
Have had no issues with this rice cooker, heats well, no burning, no rice sticking. Also used it for frying meat, vegetables, boiling soups & sauces because my APT mgmt is terrible and left me w/ a broken stove.

Worth it! **edit: 1 1/2 year update***
Update 10/26/23***One and a half year update and I still give this five stars!I have taken this across the country on trips and it has held up great for daily use. Still easy to clean, easy to store and nothing wrong with it! The only thing like I’d already said is I wish they’d make a bigger one.***I had been comparing rice cookers for months and I finally decided to settle on this one.I am very happy with my purchase!Pros:1. No nonstick, so no worrying about bad things leeching into your food.2. Cleans easily.3. Not too big, not too small. Perfect for storage!4. I have cooked many variations of rice and all of them have turned out perfectly. (jasmine rice, basmati rice, sticky rice, sushi rice, mexican rice, brown rice, short grain rice & wild rice)5. We use this everyday and have yet to come across any issues.(Tip: When my rice is done cooking I unplug it right away. So it prevents burning, because it is a metal pot it will cause burning, compared to other rice cookers that are not. So do not leave it on warm… it’ll stay warm for a good amount of time if you don’t open the lid)Cons:1. I wish they made a bigger one of this rice cooker. We always cook four cups of rice for our family of five. When we have friends over I wish we could make more, so I don’t have to cook rice twice. But, that complaint is really not a big deal.2. I wish there was an off button. Again, not a big deal.I am verrrrry happy with this purchase and will come back in a year to let everyone know how it’s holding up. ☺️ so far so good!

easy cook but smaller than expected
I purchased this rice cooker specifically for rice cooking and here are my observations on its pros and cons:Pros:1. The stainless steel inner pot makes it easy to cook and clean, which is a major advantage.2. Compared to non-stick pots, I feel more healthy using this pot.Cons:1. The size of the pot is smaller than what was indicated in the product details. It can cook a maximum of 4.5 cups instead of the 5 cups of raw rice, resulting in 9 cups of cooked rice. --- don't know if rice brand would make any difference, I use only high quality rice.2. During my first use, I noticed a burning smell that I couldn't identify the source of, which was a cause for concern. However, fortunately, it hasn't happened again after the initial use.Addition info: 1. Cooking time is about 21 minutes for 2 cups uncooked rice. 2. Rice sticking on inner pot is expected.
