99 Suburban direct fit
I'm just not ready to give up on my 99 Suburban. 280k miles and keeps on going. I decided to change the fuel pump since it was noisy and the gas gauge started to give me the dreaded bounce. It had over 100k miles on it and I wanted to change it on my terms and not after breaking down on the side of the road. It was a direct fit with no problems installing it. I would recommend buying snap ring pliers and a fuel line disconnect tool if you don't have one already. I also changed the fuel pump relay since it has been driven almost 300k miles. It's cheap insurance in case it were to fail anytime soon. New pump runs much more quiet now with no problems. 2k miles so far. Spend the extra money and buy this one to replace your failed or failing pump.

I mean the part is great but who enjoys replacing a fuel pump?

Right part at the right time!
My father-in-law, a former GM mechanic, installed the part in a little over an hour. For my truck, a 1999 K2500 Suburban, there were several important tools needed that I did not have myself: one to disconnect the hoses and one to melt the shrink wrap on the electrical connections. Other than than, I think I could have done the job with the tools I had on hand if I followed the directions in the box. The most important part, though, is the fact that the newly installed pump works well. Best of all, I'm glad to have a fuel gauge that works!

Replaced 2X
I like to buy GM OEM parts when available. However this is not the case with this POS fuel pump. Both pumps FAILED for the same reason. The float went bad. There is a lot of work to take this fuel pump out and put back in.Think about a different brand this time. I ordered from a different competitor.Amazon only gives a 90 day warranty. This time I get a lifetime warranty.

Only buy AC Delco parts for Chevys!
After 2,000, it still pumps with the same pressure as it was when new. Here are the fuel pressure you should expect when new:When ignition key is first turned to the on position without starting the engine pressure should rize quickly to 60 psi. The fuel regulator opens at this point to let any pressure above 60 psi return back to the fuel tank. After one second, the fuel pump relay shuts off the fuel pump and pressure drops to 50 psi. When the key is turned to the off position, the pressure rises again because the file pump is turned on again to pressure the line . The pressure is 60 psi then drops to 55 psi when the pump shuts off.

Just bite the bullet and buy the best!
I love my 99 suburban just as much now as i did back when i bought it new. The Vortec 350 has proven to be a real work horse for me and has given me 300,000 (almost) trouble free miles. One thing i don't like about this truck,,,, Fuel Pumps. I've had 6 fuel pumps replaced on this truck since 1999. Many tell me this is a common issue with this body style truck, but here's what I've learned throughout all my years of ownership. Don't try and save a few bucks buying some cheaper pump, you'll end up spending more money in long run. The Delco branded pumps have outlasted many of the other cheaper offerings I've had over the years. The pump shipped quickly from amazon and came with some instructions, a new o-ring seal and a new power connection plug. The price was also unbeatable.Very happy with purchase!
