Great sandals!
Nice color, not blindingly white. Very comfortable and the fit is perfect (they are a tiny bit longer than my 38 N Arizonas. ) In other shoes I wear 7.5 or 8 M. They have broken in quickly. I would recommend giving your feet and toes some time to adjust to the toe strap before wearing for an extended period of time. If there is a narrow version, it would probably be too narrow for me.

Nice Shoe. Right Price
These sandals are pretty and comfortable. I had to wear them a few times to break in the toe straps but now they are fine. I normally wear a size 8 - 8 1/2 (39 in European sizing) and I have a problem with swelling in my feet due to medical issues. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered down to a size 38. I'm glad I did. The 39s would have definitely been too large and sloppy. Shoes that are too big can be just as uncomfortable and bad for your feet, posture, knees, and back as shoes that are too small. Even when my feet were swollen from a whole day of walking around New York City in 100 degree heat, these fit well without making matters worse. Did I mention cute?

5 stars to Birkenstock!!
My second pair of birkenstocks, I love them so much. They're both stylish and very comfortable. I especially love my Mayari sandals, though I do recommend not wearing them too long when you first get them. The day after I got them I wore them to a music festival where I was standing for 6 hours straight and they became unbearingly uncomfortable and hurt my back and the insides of my feet to where I couldn't wear sandals for 3 days. Highly recommend walking around in them the first 2 weeks for about 1-2 hours a day, but not any longer. After they break into the shape of your foot they become soo comfortable! I love them and I'm going to keep buying them! Enjoy, I hope this helped!

Long time Birkenstock fan
I started with the Birk clogs in high school and have since moved onto their sandals. If you've owned Birkenstocks in the past, the sizing and fit should be familiar to you. The "antique lace" color is perfect...it seems a little more fancy than plain white. I bought these for an upcoming vacation where I expect a lot of walking. I wanted a sandal that would be comfortable and look good with shorts or dresses. The adjustable straps and foot bed (that adjusts to your foot over time) ensure this sandal is a comfortable one which will get better with time. I had surgery on one foot to have a bunion removed and now have a metal screw in my foot (still have a bunion on the other foot), and I would highly recommend this brand to someone will similar feet problems.

Not sure why everyone loves these so much
I’m wondering if any of the Birk diehards can tell me whether the sizing down makes sense if I have a half inch in front and back of my foot. L Also does the shoe wear in a bit? The arch support is high and forward on my foot so I’m wondering if it will smooth down or stay firm? They look pretty cute, but I’m not sure they’re right for me.

Mayari and Gizeh... both are nice... some comparisons between the two...
I purchased these in the Graceful Antique Lace color. On my monitor, the color of the shoe looks like a shimmery creamy-white. In person, the shoe is a shimmery creamy-beige color. Not tan, not white... creamy beige. Another review mentioned this and I have to agree. It is still a neutral color and not brown, so it goes with everything. Just don't be surprised when you take them out of the box like I was! The toe post is great compared to the hard, plastic toe post of the Birkenstock Gizeh. I have to get used to the Gizeh toe post every season when I first pull them out of my closet. The Mayari toe post is soft and not noticeable at all, to me, as I don't have a problem with thong sandals in general (except for the plastic toe post of the Gizeh!) The comfort is very good for my right foot, but I am having difficulty with the left foot, in the ball of the foot, near the middle. This is my problem area and I am hoping as my foot molds to the foot bed, the uncomfortable feeling will disappear. Something else I hope will disappear is the sound of air whooshing from under my foot where it meets the sole of the shoe as I walk! I did a search on this problem and I'm not the only one who has had a problem with pockets of air gushing out while walking. This is also not the first pair of shoes this has happened to me with, but these are very expensive and I'm hoping the noise goes away as my foot molds to the foot bed. Otherwise, major disappointment on my end... Not a cool sound to have to walk around with if you know what I mean... :( I measure as an exact size 7 1/2 and usually prefer to wear a size 8 (especially in closed toe shoes). I ordered the EU 38 and it fit perfectly. This is the size I wear in Birkenstocks. I have purchased the size 39 before (my first pair) in a closed-toe clog and virtually SWAM in them. The Mayari is very cute on the foot and looks better, to me, than the regular Birkenstock slide (I think it's called the Arizona, but I don't have that one) that you see on everyone. The Gizeh Birkenstock is more sexy-looking, to me, and I prefer the look of it. It's a gorgeous shoe (the Gizeh), whereas the Mayari is cute. But for the hard, plastic toe post, the Gizeh would be perfect. That's why I thought I'd try the Mayari out and in that respect (toe post), the Mayari wins hands-down. Also, I believe the Mayari has good arch support, but not terribly high. I have Vionic (Tide with sequins) flip flops that I adore and the arches are VERY high. I wear Vionics to correct my sore feet and get them ready for whatever other shoes I want to wear. It's so hard to find good, supportive footwear and I know everyone's feet are different, but I hope this review helps you to make your decision! Mayari is a very nice shoe over-all- as long as the whooshing air sounds goes away... :)
