Wusthof Classic Ikon 7 Piece Slim Knife Set with Acacia Block

For years we had a large knife block purchased at a big box store with most of the knives never used. Since both of us are cooking at our new home we wanted a more focused set. With limited counter space the slim knife set was the perfect fit. The various knives are a pleasure to use. The acacia block is well built.

These were a gift a someone who spent a lot of time researching good knife sets. Got to use them over Christmas. They cut very well, felt great in the hand, and were well-balanced. Sometimes you have a pay for quality.

Love love love these knives. Over the years we have owned multiple (less expensive) knives. Wow! Cutting, chopping, slicing and dicing is so so easy now! We didn’t realize how much extra work we were going with other knives. These are not only beautiful, but sturdy, quality, and efficient.

Super sharp and well balanced in your hand. Keep their edges nicely.

I wash and throughly dry after every use, which honestly isn’t even that often maybe once a week… and they already have rust.

EDIT: After having these knives for a few months, I am disappointed to say that the handles are very poor. These knives are very well cared for, being hand washed and returned to the magnet immediately upon use, but three of them have issues with the handles. Really disappointing.I love Wustoff knives because of the weighting and precision. This is such a cute set! Super compact and slender.

After about six months they no longer keep a sharp edge and I'm constantly having to get them sharpened. I had Henckels Four Star knives for decades and never had this kind of issue. My guess is the steel is not as high of quality (I thought I was upgrading).

I'm no novice to cutting fresh foods every day... but these new Wusthof ikon knives are no joke! I've poked my fingers twice in the past week just picking up the knives (thank God not during chopping or I'd be down a finger or two) Enjoy these knives carefully!
