Q: Will a dirtbike stand on its own on the carrier before being tied down?

It won’t stand up alone however, Black Widow sells racks with a tire support, otherwise it’s not difficult, I’m an old lady and can tie down myself if you begin with the inside handle bars I also highly recommend the rhino ratchets with locking carabiners those won’t come loose with slack, next secure the outside handle bar. I only ever need to balance while securing it, I never feel like I need to hold it in place. Just balance. Once the handle bars are secured the rear is super easy. The trick to loading and securing anything is having the carabiner ratchets. I also have them set to the length I need so I’m not bumbling around hook and ratchet boom done

Yeah I would say from the outside is 7 inches and the inside is more like 5. Dirt bike cleats kind of hang on the rails an get squished when you ratchet it down.

I would say it sits about a foot away from the hitch
