No Deep cycle setting
This review is for the sc1359. The best thing I can say about it is that it does seem to work. The biggest issue with it so far is that there is conflicting info in the manual and what's on the box and the adds. I wanted it for farm use and to charge deep cycle marine batteries on my boat. The box says it's ideal for marine batteries and that it charges standard, AGM, and deep cycle batteries. It sounded like what I needed. But when I examined the charger, the choices were standard, AGM, or gel, with no mention of a deep cycle lead acid type battery. I called customer service and the guy first said to use the AGM setting. After talking with him further, he said that the standard setting would probably be ok too.I've never heard anywhere else to charge deep cycle marine batteries on an AGM setting, but maybe it will work ok. It seems like they could eliminate discrepancies like this before selling the product. I have another Schumacher charger that is over 20 years old and is still working, so I hope this one is made that well.Update: It has been 15 months since I first bought one of these chargers, so I thought I should update my review. The fact that I have bought 3 more of them since then should tell you what I think of them. The great thing about it is that it is an extremely light weight charger that puts out a genuine 15 amps on 12 volts. That's an amazing amount of charging power in such a light charger, and it is quite cheap for that kind of performance. It has a couple of annoying features, but the good far outweighs the bad for my purposes. I need chargers in multiple places, and these are cheap enough that I was willing to buy 4 of them instead of carrying them around with me.One of the negatives is noted in my original review - there is no setting for a deep cycle flooded lead acid type battery. Their rep said to use the AGM setting, so I have done that and it has kept all of my deep cycle batteries in great condition. I've also used the regular setting to recharge tractor and truck batteries, and that setting works too. I don't have any Gel batteries, so I haven't tested that setting. So this is just a labeling issue and I don't know why they don't correct it.The other issue is that the lights turn off about 10 seconds after beginning a charge, and in order to check the status of the charge you have to push one of the buttons. I guess they are trying to save power, but the amount of power it would take to keep these lights on is infinitesimal when compared to the amount of power it uses in charging. It's really not a big deal, but I would rather the lights stay on so that I can see the status when walking by. The green light comes on when the charge is complete, so there really isn't anything that needs to be done until that happens. Some reviewers here have been concerned that it measures over 12 volts output during a charge, but don't be concerned about that. Every charger does that, and it isn't possible to fully charge the battery unless it does. This charger works exactly the way it is supposed to do. After a day of fishing, the 15 amp output will take my batteries to a 99% charge level in less than 2 hours. It will then take about another 30 minutes to get the green light to come on, indicating a complete charge. Adding that final 1% is critical to the health of your batteries, and an important reason that this charger is superior to the old chargers of the past. I am raising my rating to 5 stars

The size , weight, and power is very desirable!
This charger is small light and really packs a punch! My deep cell marine battery was down to 50 % and in 2 hours was at 100% with this new charger. I would definitely recommend this product and would also purchase again.

Clamps aren't big enough.
I bought this to replace my SSC-1000a, which gave up the ghost, last month. So a few things about this SC1359. The cables seem a tad shorter and the clamps are definitely not as big as the ones on the SSC1000a. The SSC1000a's clamps fit over my 2005 corollas battery cables easily. But the SC1359's didn't, well the negative fit but the positive did not. I had to remove the battery cables and clamp on to the terminals.
