Precision pill cutters, works better than great
These things are amazing! Real precision quality in the materials (high carbon stainless steel) and the manufacture (super sharp, perfect cutting edge - no burs, consistent angle from one end to the other, silky smooth operation - no wiggle at the hinge). The steel even feels smooth as silk from the powder coating. Obviously made with great care, one at a time like they say. Absolutely worth the price. The only thing, you need to really take your time to get things lined up properly before you slowly and gently chop, esp. if there are no score marks. Put on the strong glasses to see what youāre doing.I have to cut a 2.5mg tablet (tiny size) of Amlodipine into quarters for our 18.5 year old cat. No score marks or anything on the pill. I tried 3 box type cutters, horrible results ā a lot of bits and powder. You can see all the powder these things made in the picture. To get an even split I don't look down on the cutters from the top, I look from the front of the cutters. I can get a better view by comparing the edge of the pill with the outer edge of the cutting blade.Thank you!

Splits Pills Well 90% of the Time- User Error
In the Amazon post, reviews for scissors cutting small pills and large pills are both featured. When buying, you need to choose the scissors for the size of pill you will cut and select the color of the scissor handles. I initially thought the listing was just for small scissors, but somehow had reviews for both sizes. After measuring my pill, I chose scissors for small pills with black handles. After reading many conflicting pill splitting reviews on various days, I decided that I would have more success with the scissors for cutting and longevity. I read about stainless steel and the grades of it. I learned that stainless steel could rust. I also found out that even if the pills are scored, that does not mean they are to be split. Some active ingredients and fillers are not evenly distributed in the whole pill. Some pills lose potency when cut and stored. If one ends up with some pieces and powdered crumbles, it is best to go one day at a time. That cannot go in a pill organizer.I planned to split my pills all at once and have them ready in my 2-week pill organizer. I take half a pill each day. I learned that my medication is one of the ones that should not be cut in advance. When both halves are taken, I cut the next pill right before I consume half of it. Sometimes I have more success than others cutting the pills. It seems to work well most of the time. My medication has a scored-type, indented line on the upper and lower third of it. Since it is not really scored all the way across, I do have to be careful, or I end up getting two pieces of varying size.I think the scissors are working well for me. When I do not get an accurate cut, it is my fault.

Well-made
Hello, I am reviewing these pill cutting scissors. They are very well-made with attention to detail. Mine are made in Japan. I am very happy with my purchase, they don't wobble, nor feel cheap. They work very well cutting pills. I recommend them.

Great for cutting up big dog food nuggetsš¶
Even though it is listed as a splitter for large pills, I found this excellent at breaking apart those round dog food nuggets that are too large for dogs with small mouths. I got a Jack Russell and a chihuahua, whom both need weight loss dry dog food, but have a hard time chewing the dime size round nuggets. At first I used a regular pill splitter, but after a while the blade turned sideways. Try a knife, but the nuggets flew in the air trying to break them in half. So I looked at heavy duty pill splitters here on Amazon. I didnāt want a product to reduce the material into power. The Allex large pill splitter scissor is what I was looking for. Strong enough to cut those large pills{which my mother refers as āhorse pillsā} into half very easily. Since those medications are solid, I figured the dog nuggets would work with this.Place the middle of the round dog nuggets in the scissors. It broke the dog food apart, no problem! So I was able to make the large dog nuggets into pebbles for the dogs to eat. So now my pets can eat the food they need without the hassleš¶

Cuts hard pills like a warm knife through butter!
The only thing I don't like about this is lining up non-scored pills to cut evenly. After time you get use to eyeballing and lining up the pills. Those of you who half and then quarter their Oxycontin to get more than 4 hours of analgesic effectiveness because of the hard as a rock polymer. You can now cut these rock hard worthless pills with this cutter and not destroy a pill cutter every other week! If you take the 60mg or 80mg cut them into quarters and take 2 quarters every 5 hours to get 10+ hours from one pill. If you have to take these like I do to treat severe pain, you know that 4 to maybe 5 hours is all you're going to get taking a whole pill. These pills are so hard that once they get by your proton pumps(creates the acid in your stomach)they cease to dissolve whatsoever! These pills are completely pH dependent and require a massive amount of high level acidity to dissolve, in layman's terms they're gut(stomach)dependent!Pay attention to your bowel movement stools and every now and then you will observe a white pill like substance that is more than half of the size of said partially dissolved pill...My doctor is well aware of these things and is the one who told me to quarter my 80mg pills to get atleast 10 hours of analgesic effectiveness instead of 4 to 5 hours from a single pill. He was right and it definitely made a huge difference in analgesic effectiveness for my severe pain levels.Thankfully this pill cutter is going to save those of us who have to cut these insanely exspensive analgesic pills by lasting along time. I used to break a pill cutter every week or every other week cutting these rock hard pills...
