Nailed It!
I have spent a lot of time renovating a twenty year old deck. I had new decking put down after the first lockdown but treated it after the first winter which was probably a mistake. Used B&Q own brand which did not take well and by this summer the finish had worn badly in places and was splotchy.I read loads of reviews on different products and settled on this one as seemed to offer best results for best value. I am so pleased with the final result. The boards are a rich colour and water resistance is good. Won’t know about durability until after the first winter. I am hopeful that it will still be looking this good next spring.A few words of caution:-the container is very large and it is hard to pour the oil without spilling it, at least initially-I started using an applicator pad rather than a brush but it overloaded the oil on the boards. I might have had more of a problem due to the previous product that I had used. I changed my strategy after going over what I had already done with several cloths to absorb the excess oil…which was a tedious job. After that I applied using a brush and kept a cloth to hand to rub in excess where needed. That system worked quite well.-the oil takes time to cure…we could not walk on it for the first 24 hours but I would say it took 3-4 days to fully dry. Not really a problem but worth noting as some products are quick drying and this one definitely is not.Overall I am thrilled with the results and have plenty of oil left to re-treat when needed. The price is very reasonable compared with well known brands of decking oil, which in my opinion have always let me down.If anyone likes the black railings, I am adding a review for the black barn paint that I used for those which I also bought on Amazon. The railings are over twenty years old but I could not afford to replace them. So pleased with my decision to paint them black.

Good product
This decking oil is a good product and seems to be very water repellent , it tend to make the knots very dark , that is the only down side , other than that really happy with the decking oil

Great value, easy to use.
My 9 year old deck had been neglected for a couple of years, although I've used deck treatment before, decided to try this oil.Gentle jet wash to clean it up, left to dry for a week until the sun came out.Applied 2 generous coats of this oil with a roller. Went on very easily, absorbed really well. First coat was dry in a few hours in the sun so went straight ahead with the second coat. 2 coats on 12m2 of deck used about 1/2 the container so I'll have plenty for another coat or 2 in the autumn so it's great value.Darkens the old wood by a few shades which is expected but finished a nice light oak colour. Seems very water repellent so far.

great colour
goes on easy, and left my decking a great colour, I'm not seeing the water repelling that others have seen, so might need a third coat, but it was significantly darker decking before i stripped it back with pressure washer and sander, so i suspect it has soaked in a lot as it was a harsh strip back it had to remove the old colour

Good product for the price.
It seems a good product. It would be better to review when it has been down for a while.

Gives you a workout painting it on but value for money
Price is good compared to other brands but it’s a bit thicker than say, Screwfix No Nonsense oil, so you do have to ‘work’ the brush or roller to get it on. It also, despite being a clear oil, darkens your lighter wood but that didn’t matter to me.Overall I’m happy and the water runs off the decking nicely now.
