A great system, easy to install. Integrates very well with Aqualink.
An excellent system. It displays the salt level in PPM on the display, and you can set the production rate (0-100%) on the LCD display, or you can integrate the system with a Jandy controller as I did. From the Jandy controller, you can see the salt PPM, and you get a menu for setting the production rate percent for pool and spa modes - perfect. You can take it a step further and integrate a PH/ORP controller with the Jandy controller. This will turn off the production when the ORP goes above your set point.Regardless of your pool size, i recommend getting the larger cell for low restriction and long cell life. I also recommend you install the cell with flow strait through, rather than flowing from the side. Flow from the side is goes through a more restrictive path.

Great Salt Water System
We made the decision to go to a salt water pool system. Being relatively adept, I chose to install this myself. I bought one of these units from another vendor three years ago. I chose the Zodiac PLC1400 to pair with it. We could have gotten by with the PLC700 but this gave us a larger cell. Less work = longer life. We paired it with the APUREM. In preparation, I had upgraded our controller to the latest release of hardware and software, so I was familiar with most of the circuitry involved. There were instructions included, but they were not as comprehensive as you would really need. In fairness to Zodiac/Jandy, they feel that a pool professional should do this. As for information, the internet is a great thing. There are numerous sites that have detailed information about the install. However, if you have any doubts, do not try this!!! You are dealing with 240 Volts and electrical circuits. If the unit is not correctly installed you may get severe electrical shock or you may fry the system. The only hiccup we get, is an occasional communication error. So the rating is 4 Stars. This is related to the serial com connections that are used. I have upgraded the circuits boards as per Zodiac's support advice and they only made the problem less prevalent. Either a short wait or a reboot resolve this.

Sold with bad board
Unit came with panel knocked out and the circuit board was bad. Many of these units have been shipped with bad circuit boards, as my pool professional was told by the Jandy tech. They can tell which ones are bad by the serial number. It's cheaper to go with another salt unit if you are replacing the old Jandy unit, as was my case.

Ok price but not complete
Recieved and installed myself. No instructions contained w/unit. Had to down load from another site. After installing began to flash code of 181 & 172. Had to call a pool guy. $200 later guy said unit was shipped without a translatetor card???? Told me from the serial number on unit it should have been included.

Stay clear; run away
Not reliable at all and have had problems starting about 1 month after installation. Andy tech support makes jokes that I should get it fixed before my pool turns green and yet have not been able to fix the problems nor willing to try. These clowns should join the unemployment lines
