Very stabilizing
My previous stirrups were very flexible on the side, which at the time I thought was great. When I switched to these I thought they felt weird at first, but then realized how much more stable I was in the tack! Especially at the canter- my lower leg felt much more secure. I luckily haven't had an opportunity to test them out with a fall, but I feel safer in them, especially now that I am starting to jump. The metal tread was a turn off at first and I was worried it would scratch my saddle (it hasn't). They do collect some arena dirt but I find the brush on my hoof pick is perfect and it just takes a few seconds to clean them off before putting my tack away. Overall super happy. I got them in blue, which is a beautiful contrast on my black horse.

The best
I love these stirrups. They are not the cheapest but they are also not the most expensive. They are so good I actually would pay more now that I have used for quite some time. I now feel that the price is cheap for what you get. I don’t even like using other stirrups now. I have done trail riding, even shorter endurance rides, long gallops, fake fox hunting which includes jumping…I love that it opens on the side for those unplanned dismounts.I once threw myself upside down kicking my foot out of a stirrup that would not let go on such an unplanned dismount. Falling upside down is not ideal but having your foot caught in a stirrup on a galloping spooked horse while your upside down is less ideal. This is not how I plan to start trick riding. I wish I had had these then. Maybe I could have then fallen on my side instead of having to work so hard to avoid landing on head and neck.I’ve fallen off once with these after a jump..not sure if that feature was used but nice knowing it was there. I did use my tippary vest that fall. Worth it!I am planning on a second pair as it is annoying to swap them all the time to different saddles.I have had this pair over 2 years. Maybe more.I use them a lot and over other options when able. These are wonderful and very much worth it.I wish they’d make a western looking one too…who knows.

Good grip stirrups
Nice grip on feet when posting or cantering. Foot stays in place even when an occasional "bounce" happens. Older rider w/ older horse so probably a good time to take safety more seriously. Havent had to use the safety part yet....let's hope I never find out if that works.

Light but solid feel.
I wasn't sure if these would be as solid as my MDC sturups that I love but they are working out nicely. Not as heavy but just enough weight to keep my heel down and feel secure. Definitely recommend.

Safety
These are the most comfortable stirrups I have ever ridden with. I bought them for safety but was amazed to find them so absolutely comfortable.I recommend this.Linda

Didn't open for falls
I wanted to love these but unfortunately in the 2 falls I've had, they did not open. The most recent fall i think I would have landed on my feet had the stirrup opened, but it didn't and instead I fell hard on my knee. Not sure if maybe something is wrong with my particular pair or if it is a design issue since it opens from the bottom. Will likely be returning and going with the Herm Sprengers instead as they open from the top.

The best stirrups
My son plays polo. I love these because I feel like if he came off the horse in a high speed situation, at least his foot will have a smaller likelihood of getting caught. He likes them because the tread keeps his foot solidly in place (in polo, you move your legs around a lot). They’re great!
