Having asked the question before purchase if the extension kit was suitable for my 3018 PROVer, I was assured it would. After assembling the MDF board to the two aluminium plates. First problem was the pitch of the screw housing holes are not correct. Second problem when finally assembled after modifying the board for the holes to line up. The centre screw housing hits the motor shaft collar before the slider housing hit the limit switch;One star for all the trouble and work needed to get a the assembly done which in the end does not work.I have now updated my review to a 5 star.After my initial problem as outlined earlier. I was given full support and even sent a new full kit at no cost to me. Thank you Tech Maker for your immediate response to my rather first review.

I bought this, followed the instructions, used the guides that came with it and it all went together perfectly 1st time, which was great. However the MDF board is NOT a spoil board that sits on top of your bed and protects it, rather it is a board for connecting 2 aluminium beds together and sits under the bed, so in that respect it's a bit misleading to have called it a spoilboard in the product description. I have subsequently created my own spoil board from 6mm MDF so that was ok, but overall I have lost something like 7-8mm from my Z axis range as well as adding considerable weight to the bed, so at some point I'll buy some aluminium extrusion to join the boards together, take this board out and actually use it as a spoil board once my homemade one is worn out.

Great product, comes well packaged with all the fixings my only issue was that this product comes with the Y axis limit switch extension cable and I think the cable should come with the Y axis extension kit.

An easy way to extend your 3018 using this and the Y rail extension kit.Work area now 300mm x 320mm, or longer if you use the tiling option in investable.

Simple assembly took about an hour with no dramas.Increases the y axis range making the 3018 a more versatile machine.

ok so i purchase the longer extension kit, went for the spoilboard as well to make the machine the complete package, now, I selected the correct item for my 3018 pro cnc machine, the first thing is the awkwardness of trying to get all the nuts in line with the holes in the MDF board only to find out that the holes for the sliders and the screw rail didn't line up, so out with the drill to enlarge them.After getting them fastened up , I went to offer it up the the 3018 to find out the whole thing is misaligned to the rails and screw, so out with the drill to now elongate the holes to give enough adjustment to allow the spoilboard to traverse freely.all in all a bit of a waste of money as I was reading through some of the reviews and you can get away with using rail shaft bearing supports directly to the aluminum spoilboard (ebay/Amazon), these eliminate the MDF board and as a bonus give you back 10mm of height to the deck, and overall give a better fix, adjustment and rigidity. apart from the aluminum part you would be better off making your own arrangements.

As I suspect happened with at least one other reviewer here, I didn't spot that there are two versions, one for the 3018 Pro and one for the ProVER. I accidentally bought the second one, and went mental when I stripped my CNC and this didn't fit. I reached out to SainSmart and they were super helpful and pointed out my error, when I looked again and then confirmed the issue. So check carefully before you buy.

I put this on my 3018 pro and it fit perfectly. There was an ever so slight difference in the thickness of this and the original table but it was less than a 1/64th. You do lose some Z height because of the MDF but it has not limited me from doing anything so far. The extra length is worth the trade off for me.

Installed this in conjunction with the Y-axis extension. Read all the reviews and decided to buy it anyway. I had no problems at all with the installation of the spoilboard. All parts were included, even a new limit switch cable. All of the assembly was spot on, required no redrilling of holes. The only hassle was getting the gantry placement done. My measurement ended up at 119mm from the rear.
