Great pump for the price
Bought this to empty my hotter quicker. After a lot of research decided on this one as it's a good make/brand. Works well.

Nowhere near as good as advertised
The media could not be loaded. Alarm bells started to ring when I picked up the box as it was a fraction of the weight of previous pumps. When I unpacked it, I noticed that the pump casing and foot plate seem to be made of very lightweight, metal and very thin. I desperately needed to pump some water, so I took a chance and connected it all up. It worked first time. However, the output pressure was minimal. With just a three meter head, the pump output was a fraction of that claimed. Connected to a lay flat hose. It could only just pressurise the line and the simplest kink in the pipe. For instance going over the step completely stopped the flow. The output couldn’t match a standard garden hose. It was rated the same as the pump I took out and I would estimate the flow of this pump was about a third of the pump it replaced. I was only pumping clean water from a well into The water tank, and unless I stood there, holding the hose straight, the flow just stopped, and the pressure was insufficient to even pump over the lip of the tank. I have had a lot of experience with pumps, and this one was definitely a dud. Just to be sure, I borrowed a Draper pump with exactly the same rating and connected it up and the difference was phenomenal. There’s no way that this pump can pump the volume rated for the head given.

lots of power, easy to use, drained down to about 10mm
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the pump to empty the last few inches of water from a pool. High speed pumping as can be seen in the video. I used the standard pipe I use for normal pool equipment like the pool vac which has a yellow rubber fitting on the end. I removed the stepped fitting and placed it straight onto the elbow. The pump got it down to about 10mm left even with the smallest base fitted. I then used a large bucket and a dustpan to scoop up the remaining 10mm. The floating switch meant I could just keep chucking water into the bucket and the pump would switch on when the water level got high enough, it ran for a few seconds draining the bucket down to an inch or two. Much easier than carrying buckets out of the pool each time. Really happy with the purchase.

Stopped working too soon
The pump worked well, but seemed to stop working too soon.
