I have seen these around for a while and was always tempted, but thought they were more of a gimmick than actually functional. In addition, I have never really seen any great reviews on any of them. But what I have found is that many buyers expect too much. It's not freezing cold and probably would not have much effect in a large room - like a living/dining room. You would probably need 2 for large rooms.But with this weather, my son's bedroom where a PC is constantly on, the temperature was unbearable and fans just circulated warm air. This most definitely is an improvement - I wish it was bigger but as small as it is, it really does reduce the room temperature in his room. I wish now, I hadn't bought so many fans and just bought 3 of these for our house. It is very efficient at maintaining a cool airflow in the room. It is a little noisy, but no more so than a fan. You do hear a constant trickle of the water also, but I actually enjoy that, I find it calming.Best buy this year for me. I am considering buying another only it would feel so wasteful after buying a load of fans! If only I had tried it earlier. Long story short; it is much better than a pedestal fan, less intrusive also and it does lower the room temperature in a small room. Value for money.

I've purchased smaller air coolers which seem to work better than this. I had a similar size one a few years ago which was amazing but the cardboard filter went bad and couldn't replace so had to bin. I was hoping this would be as good but doesn't seem to be as cooling. It's in a medium sized room approx 12x8ft Will try to add more ice blocks and hopefully that will help. Delivery was late too but guessing that's because of the heat on the expected date, which is why it was needed then

The air flow is very week you can barely feel it and very noisy. The company is definitely to avoid. I wanted to return it as it was not as advertised and faulty, they send me an invalid return label with the post office refused, when I asked the company to sende a valid usable label they stated that the label was valid and to go to a different post office! Well the main post office and Royal mail told me the return label was not valid so couldn't be accepted. The seller stopped replying to me! However Amazon refunded my money, thank you Amazon!

Doesn’t get very cool on hot days. Remote does not work. Need to sit close to feel any benefit. Don’t waste your money.

Great fan that does just what it says. I was a little apprehensive, but its actually really good considering it's ice packs and water you use. Got this in the heatwave we just had. That impressed with it ive just ordered my eldery mother one.
