Does the job
I needed to pass a digital audio cable and HDMI cable through the back of a cavity wall and to the side where the receiver and equipment are so all cables can be hidden from sight. I couldn’t figure out how to get the cables, apart from opening up the area which has been boxed in and needed to be unscrewed and taken out (need to get someone with DIY skills to help) to where I could access them so did some research about tools to help. I choose this set as it looks similar to many other sets and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I admit I was puzzled when I read some questions from people asking how to open the container it is stored in but I really couldn’t figure out either. I tried rubber gloves to pull the top / bottom off but no luck. Finally had to use a bradawl to prise the plastic top off.I thought the quality of the cables was fine. They are quite inflexible and for my purposes I would have preferred them to have more flexibility. I taped the end of audio cable to the short white cable and began passing it into the cavity wall. I couldn’t feel the cable so thought I had failed. Fortunately I could use a touch and see through a gap where it was and using sone bbq tongs I was able to grab the cable and pull it. Unfortunately I pulled a bit too hard and one of the cables was at an angle and the connector snapped but luckily it was outside and only one was broken. The HDMI cable was harder. It was very tight to put the HDMI and the cable tool into the opening together and in the end I just fed the HDMI cable into and used the cable tool with hook to pull the HDMI cable towards me. I didn’t think it would work but pleased it did! After working up a bit of a sweat and afterwards reading advice to use the tool to feel string and then attach to cables to pass through , I realised it might be an easier way without forcing the cable tool. In the end I couldn’t have done the job without it!
