Frankly, I think these chestnuts are great! They are peeled and ready to eat out of the bag!! This brand is my favorite by far. I have tried MANY different brands but I always come back to this one. I used to get them in stores until they don't sell them anymore. I'm so glad I found these here, much cheaper too (hope they will never be out of stock here)! The reason I like this brand of chestnuts is that the taste is pretty consistent (extremely subtle sweetness to it, I hate those brands that put lots of molasses) and the size of each chestnut is decent (trust me, chestnuts from some other brands are sooooo tiny). I think some people don't like the starchy bland taste of chestnut. My husband and I, however, LOVE LOVE LOVE these chestnuts. For those never try this before, maybe think of the time when you have a tasteless, very well-boiled potato pieces? That might resembles the taste.

I've tried for years to buy uncooked chestnuts in the stores around Thanksgiving. I make a mean apple chestnut pie! I know they're hard to grow and actually gave up until I saw a package of these precooked chestnuts. Organic and delicious! Now I ordeer them by the case.

I have been buying these for Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Year. I use them in my stuffing, eat them as they are with a drink and even glaze them.

I must have gone through at least six different brands and other than buying them raw, roasting and pealing them, these are wonderful! For the money (I admit a bit on the high side) These are a treat and well worth it!

These are perfect! They are moist, sweet (naturally), perfectly peeled, and the package sizes are great for snacks.

I would give these five stars except they are kind of wet and slimy right out of the package. Put them in the microwave for 30 seconds and they are just fine. I know moisture is emitted once they are put in the package but seeing this is a turn off. I once got a batch from Italy and they were dry and delicious. Tried to order again but they were sold out. They are not bad just not perfect.
