Worked with VCDS-lite
Worked fine with VCDS-lite to scan MK4 golf TDI, you might need to download a driver for the cable like Jess mentioned in another review on here.I'll explain the process I went through and hopefully it helps someone (you'll need a laptop/tablet with windows) once you've downloaded VCDS-lite go to settings in the top left will be 4 options COM1, COM2, COM3 and COM4. Try each of these until it says "port status ok" and then save. COM4 WORKED for me.

Works on windows 10 with drivers online
Works on windows 10 with vcds lite, no idea what's on the disc provided as no device these days can read them, however if you remove the casing of the cable and look at the chipset (there will be a code printed on the chip that identifies the model) you can download lastes drivers from the internet with a simple search. This one was CH340G

Huge waste of time
Let imagine it's the early 2000's and you buy a random cable and it comes with a tiny disk to instal the drivers on... That would be perfectly fine as every computer has a disk drive.Jump to 2023 and you do the same. Oh wait most laptops nowadays don't come with a disk drive so no installation of drivers for you which means the cable is useless unless you can pop round someone else house a pull the drivers from the disk and put them on usb, or buy a usb disk driver just for one use then use it as a paper weight. If you don't have access to a disk drive then don't buy this as you won't be finding any generic drivers and time soon.Waste of time and effort.

Absolute rubbish
What a waste of money. First problem is that the drivers come on a mini cd that may be OK if your living in the 90s and still have a disk drive but unfortunately modern PCs don't. Borrowing an external drive to read the disk didn't help either as the installation constantly failed with a message telling me to read the help file which is even more useless than the mini disk. A collection of dodgy pictures taken of someone's computer screen that looks like it's running Windows 98. After wasting a full day trying various installation methods I've finally given up. Save yourself some time and money and avoid this product.
