One of the Best Live Albums Ever Released
Recorded in Argentina on the System Has Failed tour circa 2005, live metal doesn't get much better than this. The setlist is perfect, the guitar playing is top notch by both Mustaine and Glen Drover, and the crowd is going absolutely bonkers throughout the entire performance. You've never heard an audience on a live album quite like this one before, and it just makes listening to the concert on disc that much more enjoyable. Every song on here sounds heavier, more intense, and just...better...than the original studio versions, especially the post-Rust in Peace material. The 4 songs from The System Has Failed sound ten times better here than on the studio album, and as a result, fit right in with the heavier stuff from the old days. If there is anything to nitpick about, I guess it would have to be Dave's vocals, which sound a little rougher than usual at times. Then again, singing has never been his strong suit anyway--it's his guitar playing and songwriting (and in this case, killer live performance) that we pay the price of admission for--so I can't really dock him any points there. Any minor blemishes on Live in Buenos Aires are quickly overshadowed by the intensity and fever pitch at which the performance is delivered. If you like thrash metal and you like live albums, this is a mandatory purchase. This is desert island material for me. I've probably listened to this from start to finish 100 times in the four years since it came out, and the shine still hasn't worn off. Five stars, hands down.

Megadeth at its best!!
This is a band that I left forgotten a few years ago. L had a chance to rent the live DVD that was released with this set and I was amazed at how strong and tight this new line up is. Dave Mustaine is in top form and deliver killer riff with his guitar playing. The band sounds like they have been playing with Dave since hight school. They know their Megadeth stuff by heart and look like they are having the time of their lives. The real strength of the performance comes from the Argentinean crowd. These people inject such energy to the set that it is contagious. It is easy to tell why Dave Mustaine decided to record in Buenos Aires like it was intended back in 2001 before the 9/11 incident.I highly recommend this live as both an introduction to live Megadeth but also to the new line up and the new music. This CD made me look for the latest Megadeth CD United Abominations which is a very solid effort by the band,

Great live cd!
Dave's vocal aren't what they once were (maybe they never were to some folks) but this is none the less a great album and covers the hits as well as a few from the era it came out in. Some songs on it you don't hear live anymore so check it out! The chanting from the crowd is pretty neat!

It doesn't get better than Megadeth Live...
This disc set rocks. If you've ever seen this band live, then you know how great they are. Mustaine's lyrics and guitar shredding is on point with album recordings, unlike many other bands that totally suck live - these guys are intense! The song lineup is really good and leaves little to be desired. We all have our obscure Megadeth favorites, but this album covers all of the greats. The second disc is really kickass. Classics like Trust, Symphony, Holy Wars, Peace Sells... its just amazing.I was skeptical because usually I hate live metal albums, but this is actually an excellent recording. I'm even considering buying the DVD version. If you are a huge lifetime Megadeth fan like I am, you should check this out. Its actually pretty cheap too!

Great live concert
Great live concert. If you are a Megadeth fan you need this recording. I would agree with many others in saying this is their best live performance. DVD is also very good if you want to watch it as well.

I think this is their best sounding live album. One of my favorite Megadeth lineups. If you're a fan... buy it!
