Mattel Games Disney Apples To Apples - The Game Of Goofy Comparisons

Love this version of Apples to Apples. We are big Disney fans so the Disney theme is very appealing. Wanted a version we could play with our 6 year old granddaughter. She loved this and the adults had fun too. She could read most of the cards without help, and the pictures helped out when she had trouble, so she only needed to ask for help a couple of times. The concepts to match were ones that she could understand, and the poison apple card (do the opposite) was a nice addition. Can tell this will become a family favorite. The only knowledge of Disney needed for the game, is knowledge of some of the famous characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, Pinocchio, Nemo, etc - they are cards that you can use to match to the concept card (sweet, exciting, icky, fuzzy etc). They use Disney theme items as some of the explanations on the cards, examples: "A Skunk", picture is of Flower from the movie Bambi, description is, "'Oh, that's all right. He can call me a flower if he wants to. I don't mind.' - Flower Bambi 2', "'A Bad Hair Day', has a picture of Cruella de Ville, 'What hats were mad for!' 101 Dalmatians" So some of the descriptions don't really describe what the item is. For Disney fans it's cute, for Disney neutral it's probably fine, but if not a fan of Disney it would probably be annoying. My only complaint is the use of some of the TV show characters like "Hannah Montana". Our 6 year old granddaughter hasn't been allowed to watch these shows yet and is only marginally aware of the characters. I can see where it would be appealing to families with older kids that watch these shows, but for us it means the game has characters we are not familiar with and in some cases characters that we are not in a hurry for her to become familiar with. A minor complaint, and we will still enjoy the game, getting a lot of play time out of it. Much more to like than not.

Bought as a gift, worked great

We love this game and we love Disney so we thought this would be a perfect fit. The game on its own is fun, but we bought it thinking we'd be able to just mix the Disney cards in with the original game. Unfortunately this is not possible because the back of the cards look different from the original game. If you are buying this as a stand alone game, go for it, it's fantastic. This one in particular is great for kids because it has pictures to help explain the words. However, don't buy it as an add on to another version of Apples to Apples.

We love family games at our house but our 5 kids range in ages between nearly 14 and 2 so it can be hard to find games to play together. This is a great Apples to Apples version that the 4 and 6 year old play by using mostly the picture on the card and the rest of us keep that in mind while playing considering both the pictures and words. I'm not a Disney Channel fan but I really like the variety of cards. There are cards from classic Disney movies, new Disney movies, Disneyland/world, and Disney channel shows (cartoons and live action). The kids have asked to play this game multiple times since Christmas. (We've also really enjoyed the Apple to Apples big picture game though there were a few inappropriate or scary cards we removed for our young family).

I bought this for my 11 and 8 year old cousins for Christmas and they LOVED it. We have played it at LEAST 20 times since Christmas! It is fun for adults too and my cousins got a big kick out of all the pictures on the cards. Plus, the adults loved the pictures because of the nostalgia of remembering favorite disney characters/movies. The cards reference a wide variety of Disney cards from Bambi and Dumbo to The Incredibles and the Jonas Brothers. Additionally, the pictures on the cards helped my 8 year old cousin out when she didnt understand the words on the cards. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It is a very fun game, containing funny pictures and lots of family fun. I would like to see more red apple cards included as after a few games, we are seeing the same cards alot.

Pass on this price-bloated Apples to Apples. Most of the cards inside are related to outdated Disney TV shows with kid actors that make me want to stub my own toe. If this Game of Goofy Comparisons stuck to the animated Disney references, it would be a force to be reckoned with!

We have played the original Apples to Apples game at my MILs house and had lots of fun. I knew that it was great for the adults and the teenagers. We are huge Disney fans and decided we needed to have this when I saw it. We have played it many times as a family and had lots of fun. It's nice to have the Disneyland attraction cards and characters added in and the Poison Apple cards add a fun twist. One great thing about this game is that you can play for as long as you want to. It isn't a game that will go on forever. I would definitely recommend this one.
