Purchased Two Kastar IA-BP80W Li-ion batteries, one is DOA, the other works
I am an electrical engineer. I know how to test electrical/electronic equipment. I ordered two Kastar IA-BP80W rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. One of them refused to accept charge and is therefore DEAD ON ARRIVAL. The other battery accepted charge. I used the same charger for both batteries. The first battery to be attached to the charger is the DOA battery. I note that neither the battery nor the packaging provided a time stamp of manufacture or expected end of life, but Li-ion is known for extremely long shelf life. When I buy a battery from a reputable seller, I expect it to work. When I buy two batteries, I expect them both to work. Frankly, this is extremely poor quality, and so I rate this purchase with minimal stars. It is doubtful that I will buy a Kastar battery again.
