This is the second one of these gizmos I bought. I sent the last one back and it's a year or so later and saw a super low price so figured I'd give it another try. I had to watch a video to figure out how to use it and still nothing would come up on the screen Then looked again on the web and saw one site stating you must open (for PC) a program like notepad, WordPad, etc. Well tried that last time and got nothing. And again, nothing.So I opened Notepad plus (Notepad ++) and wow! It worked!! Nothing in the instructions whatsoever on this. Hope this helps someone out there. Pretty poor they don't even give that little bit of uh, kind of important information. I can't even imagine how many of these things get sent back per years because people plug them in and nothing happens :(

I've purchased 4 of these so far. The first 2 worked great for a long time. When it came time to replace them, both new ones I've purchased are constantly double scanning items and it's frequent enough that I'm going to have to replace them with something different. --UPDATE: I've given up trying after a month of double scanning things. Bought different scanners.

It's a great system, very easy to set up, and extremely affordable for its quality.
