Impressive... most impressive!
Yes, I must agree with the dark lord of the Sith; this Disney Store Star Wars Darth Vader lightsaber is very impressive. Now let’s face facts… or I’ll face facts while you look on silently. There are basically three types of lightsabers; cheap, moderate, and high-end. Which one are you looking for? This lightsaber falls into a modest position in the moderate category, and at a good price for what you get.Like its $160 to $1000.00 dollar plus counterparts, the blade could have been a foot longer (the hilt on this lightsaber is 11 inches and the blade 22.5 inches), and it could have been a little more screen accurate. However, for (at least) four times less the amount of the cheapest high-end lightsaber, this Star Wars Darth Vader lightsaber more than fits the bill for some collectors and cosplay events.Upon taking it out of the box, I noticed it was slightly heavier than I expected. The most basic details of Darth Vader’s lightsaber were there. The ‘power up’ and the ‘power down’ sounds are great, as well as the general movement sounds. There is even a ‘Battle Clash rumble feature’; knocking the blade against something, makes the blade lights flicker, and you hear the distinctive sound of ‘saber on saber contact’. The hilt vibrates slightly as well. While I plan to treat the lights in this saber with the same care as its more expensive cousin, I wouldn’t be nearly as upset if I blew a bulb in this lightsaber as opposed to one I had paid three figures for. Again, for the price, this is one awesome lightsaber. From one Star wars fan to another, you won’t regret buying it!

Granddaughter loves it!
I had bought one like this at Disneyland. My granddaughter kept playing with it. She wanted hers to be red so when I saw this one, I had to get it. She was so excited Christmas day when she opened it. It works great. Great price. Fast shipping.

MERRY SITHMAS!!! DOES NOT DISAPPOINT
Very nice build quality, and the responsive sound effects really bring it to life. The non-telescoping blade has LEDs all the way to the point, so while the blade doesn't retract like some, the fact that the blade sequentially powers up and down like a real saber provides a very satisfying result. My sons love these in red and blue, and when they clash it sounds like a real battle. They are quite bright, and I was able to shoot video of them fighting that actually looked almost as convincing as the original Star Wars visual effects. It doesn't have extra blades or other kit, just a simple saber with rubberized grips - but it does not disappoint.

The original Hasbro one from the 90s was better...
First off, it doesn't collapse. It's either engaged or it's a handle. Second, once you hit the button it makes 5 seconds of sound effects and then turns off. For the price, I would expect something far greater. I guess I will just clip the handle to my belt to complete my Halloween costume this year.

Fun!!!!
I have to admit these are pretty cool. They make the swishing noise when you wave them around and when you strike another lightsaber it makes a noise. If you strike and hold force against another lightsaber they begin to vibrate.

Jack is now Darth Vader
I was quite surprised how well this light saber is. Light, realistic, and fun. Most recommended for Star Wars lover.

The feedback and effects it does are really fun. When you power on it has progressive lights
Quality lightsaber! The feedback and effects it does are really fun. When you power on it has progressive lights, starting from the base and going up, and the opposite when you power down. Having two makes for a great show, they will vibrate and make different noises when they push onto each other. Kids and I have a lot of fun!

Delicate Saber with good sounds
The LEDS are bright and the sounds are really good. However, 0ne LED light was went out after the first "duel". I have the luke skywalker blue saber that I bought from the Disney store and it has 2 lights out now. These were not "hard battles", I was playing around with them with my 9 year old, and I told her to swing gently. The connections for the LED lights are weak, and the handle cannot be taken apart as far as i can see to solder them like you can with the older versions of these sabers. $50 dollars is a lot of money to spend on a toy that breaks with the first play, but the only real option for a light saber other than these "cheap ones", is the $200 HD FX lightsabers. So, rather than give it 1 star for breaking, I'll meet Disney halfway with 3 stars for making a relatively affordable saber that will most likely break, but is still pretty cool even if a few LEDs don't light up.
