Q: Has anyone tried to install two set on sensors, at different heights? Does it work?

I know this question is old. I just came across it. You might want additional photoelectric (PE) eye(s) to interrupt door closure if say a bumper or rear opened hatch was in the door path. A second set of these sensors will NOT do that. The main reason as I understand it is these sensors use a pulsed beam, not simply a circuit break. You CAN do this by using a traditional photo-relay install. I used this: Seco-Larm E-931-S35RRQ Enforcer Indoor/Outdoor Wall Mounted Photoelectric Beam Sensor with 35 Foot Range with these brackets: Chamberlain - Photo Cell Extension Brackets 97LM. The enforcer has a wide DC voltage input and can be powered by just about any wall wart (DC power supply). I used 5 conductor thermostat wire. I use 1 pair to at the motor housing to power the enforcer and another pair as the switch circuit. Use this switch circuit to interrupt one of the wires leading from the motor housing to the existing sensor. Mount the enforcer higher or on a diagonal pattern accross the door opening, run the thermostat wire to the sensor and adjust the reflector. Works like a charm.

Q: I have a liftmaster, chamberlain part # 41a5021-16 date:06/00. will these safety reversing sensors work? will they fit in my wall brackets?

sensors are compatible, I can send brackets with bolts for additional $10.
