I have owned lots of small brass wire wheels and have coffee cans full of the worn out ones , I do lots of paint and more rust removal on cars and trucks and this stainless steel wire-wheel is very productive !!!Please use it on a grinder with a paddle switch !!! NOT A TOY !!! Its removes paint and rust faster than my sand blaster.I am very pleased with it and now understand why the professional welders always have them for prep and cleanup. If you work on anything mechanical that needs cleaning and painting on a small scale like myself you will respect the fast extreme cleanup it performs. I recommend it highly !!! Like most things makita it's well made. I find frequently this one is easier to get the job done then the flat version.

I use these everyday and I get about 3 weeks out of it before the twists are gone from the wire.

I bought two of these to get some old spray foam off the exterior cement basement walls that have become the interior walls of an addition.I tried to scrap the foam, but I realized I would need to be the incredible hulk to do it.These wire wheel brushes, attached to my Bosch angle grinder, just destroy that foam and leave the concreteblock wall clean and ready to be painted.

Makita! What can you say, buy it! Quality and durable! Anything Makita is always a good choice. Use it to clean my arc welds, but it has many applications. Great price, fast delivery!

If you're having second thoughts about spending the extra money on a knotted/twisted wheel then just read this review. Not all wire wheels are created the same.This wire wheel stripped all the rust off my project without any problems. It even still looked new when I finished. There were no flying pieces of broken wire like there are from the standard wire wheels. The knotted/twisted wheel is the way to go for heavy duty work!

I was using this wire wheel to clean up welds while stick welding. It worked great and got into any groove I needed it to get into. Unfortunately this wire wheel did not last long. The wires would come off after only a few uses and the wheel became useless.

The coils do much better at removing rust and paint than sanding versions do. Because they are coiled up, the strands are less likely to fly off and hurt something or somebody. And the fact that the coils are angled at about 30 degrees or so makes it much easier to work with, and safer.
