RAT-1 Great knive
Arrived with very good edge. The size is perfect for my hand. I like the user defined belt/pocket clip. Great knife for the money.

Nice for the money, but….
In general this is a really nice, great feeling knife. The locking mechanism is solid, the handles look and feel great, and the steel seems good. Overall the knife looks great and fits nicely in the hand. My one complaint is that the thumb studs that assist in deploying the blade are not very well shaped, and the folding mechanism is not very smooth. What this means is that it’s fairly difficult to deploy the blade one-handed without weirdly moving your thumb and flicking your wrist. Not a big deal but if you have ever had a knife with ball bearings in the pivot you will definitely miss it. Hopefully the blade will loosen over time making this easier. That being said- everything else is great! And for the money I’m happy with the purchase. So if you need a solid knife that is relatively cheap and you are not overly snobby- this might be for you!

awesome knife
Overall great every day knife, came razor sharp, the handle is really comfortable, and it's not too bulky like other folders I've used

Great for the price
AUS 8 steel for $30 plus, that's a great price. Great size and feel in the hand. Takes sharpening easily.

... own three Ontario knives based on how much I love this knife
I now own three Ontario knives based on how much I love this knife! I now have the Rat 5 and Quartermaster from Ontario, I will definitely be buying more Ontario knives in the future.

The back of the knife has a nice flat grind on it with sharp corners
I've had this knife for a couple of years now and have carried it daily during that time. Although it is made in Taiwan, don't let that detour you from purchasing it. This knife is extremely well made. The AUS-8 steel takes an edge really well and holds it. The back of the knife has a nice flat grind on it with sharp corners, that throw sparks from a ferro rod quite well (satin finish). The liner lock fits nicely and locks the blade with no wiggle. Belt clip has held up well although I did take out the screws and put red loctite on them when I first got it. I will be buying a couple more in the future just to have.
