Keeps the woodpeckers away! This really works. The only fault I found is that in very high wind the bottom “spiral twisters” need a stronger mount.

We had a woodpecker that was coming up on our back porch and making all kinds of noise. Did a little Google investigation and found that shiny Owls seem to do the trick. Yes, I know the more realistic looking Owls seem to work too but I was going for a simple, cost-effective solution.This really shines when the sun is hitting it and with a little wind it moves a good bit and creates even more attention. Seems to be just the right amount of it because we have not seen that woodpecker since our shiny buddy has been on the back porch. Just make sure you tie it tight; wind can get pretty strong at times. I hung it up on an old plant hanger that no longer has a plant hanging. Works great! Thanks!

I liked the colorful reflections it provided when the wind blew lol. It did really scare away the annoying blue jays that would always gawk at any cat they saw, including my cat that sits on the balcony ledge. Thank goodness it’s only a couple months!

The birds seemed unbothered after a short time, even when I moved it around. It might be better suited as a decorative piece rather than a deterrent.

I haven't hung my owl outside yet. My 2 yo granddaughter likes talking to it as it sits by a kitchen wall!
