Q: What grade are these magnets? They don't seem strong enough to be n52, and the grade is conveniently left out of the description.

Hmmm, I’m pretty sure that these are N52. Just keep in mind that one disk is not big, so it’s magnetic field will be relatively small. If you combine the disks without any spacers, you will see the force greatly increases to what I believe is appropriate for N52. I have never measured the grade of a magnet, but I know that these are not weak compared to toy magnets.

Q: Will these hold a cloth curtain to a metal shelf?

It depends on many factors, like the metal the shelf is made of, and how heavy the curtains are. I believe these magnets could probably manage it as long as the shelf isn’t super skinny materials or aluminum. The I find the name of these magnets to be accurate. They are pretty powerful and can probably do the job.

Q: Are the sticky pads provided reliable to be used outdoors with the possibility of getting wet by the rain, or should I use glue instead?

I do not use them. I would not trust them. I use the magnets for my business. I make knife racks from wine barrels and use the magnets to hold the knife in place. I affix them using Gorilla glue. Have not tested the pads they supply but for my purpose I cannot see how they would be trust worthy holding a sharp knife.

Q: Will these stick to each other on a vinyl shower curtain and then stick to the tub?

Not 100% sure on that, but funny I am using them for a vinyl curtain application. If your tub is magnetic, it will work. Buy the N52 rating magnet. I bought some N35 and was disappointed, not strong enough. N52 are thick AND hella-strong.
