This bag will not hold a 17" laptop. The description states that the bag is designed to hold a 14" laptop which I did not read carefully. It will hold my husband's 15.4 inch laptop but not in the padded section designed for the laptop. If you have a laptop with a screen size that measures 17 inches diagonally, it will not fit in this bag.

Q: how wide is the luggage sleeve? I bought another one and the luggage sleeve was only 8 inches and would not fit on the luggage trolley.

8 1/4'' but my advice would be to find another seller. My bag is falling apart. The zippers fell off, the threads are coming apart and to finish it off after contacting them they will not return any messages. So buy at your own risk.

I can tell you the weight but believe me when I say go somewhere else to buy this kind of item. Mine lasted 3 months if that before falling completely apart. Stiches rotted away and came apart, the zippers fell off and just a complete piece of junk. No reply from seller after many attempts and as per usual amazon sides with the sellers.
