I didn’t know what to use for a step down from one room to the next. I redid flooring and was trying to find something relatively simple but durable to complete the edge and have it not look like a toddler did it! I came upon this and am very happy! It was simple to use, cut easily, sticks well, and had the extra bonus of a non slip edge. I am beyond happy to have found this! It’s been a week and still holding, looks great, low cost, durable!

So far, I am surprised how well it has done its job. I was a little worried because I was going to glue this to an irregular surface painted step, but wow! I am very surprised that it has survived more than a month of heavy traffic. I would definitely recommend it.

It comes rolled up like tape. You will have to unroll it and flatten it out because it takes on the “roll shape” I had to stretch it out and place some weight on it for a few hours to make it pliable again. It’s also smaller on the short side than it looks in the pics. It’s only about a half inch wide. It’s a very well made product though. Should stand up well. I applied some liquid nails construction adhesive and it adhered very well.

I gave this 3 stars because there are two main factors:1. Once installed, the product looks great on the steps of my luxury vinyl tile flooring, BUT....2. This product is shipped flat and has to be folded at the crease to create the 90 degrees needed. There are two separate adhesive strips, one for the flat edge, one for the vertical edge. The vertical edge would not adhere to the tile without using additional adhesive.

Important to know that though the product comes rolled in such a way that there are 'creases' in it, these are easily removed with a few minutes using a hair dryer on a hot setting. The item worked great on a laminate stair riser to a carpeted floor using the double sided tape that was provided. Mind you, I pre-taped the carpet section with duct tape so it would hold better and it worked perfectly.

The glue does not adhere properly. Comes rolled up and hard to place flat down.

Looks good. I like the grey with the brown. Works well on my stained floors. Be sure to prepare the wood and check if you have gloss on your wood. It may be me. It the adhesive wasn’t as sticky as I’d hoped. Will be adding gorilla wood glue. Still glad I got it.
