Perfect firmness
The purple (standard) has a perfect firmness compared to the blue (soft) which is too soft. The 36x4in is also the perfect size for lying vertically with the column aligned with the roller, and not too tall so I can stretch the chest muscles without being too far from the floor.

get it!!
I was in such a dilemma about what roller to get for my back. I am 5'3 110lbs and the Amazon 6" roller was just way too tall off the ground for my comfort. So I wasn't sure about splurging on this initially. First I thought about getting another cheaper 3" diameter ones on Amazon (the white ones) but the reviews looked pretty bad like it was a pool noodle. So I bit the bullet on this one, and boy oh boy I made the right decision. This one feels so premium and has just the right amount of give in the foam! Not too much squish but also not too hard. Investment for my back!! It's been 2 weeks I'm so happy with it.

Spendy but what I needed
Prices ranges for these things are all over the map but a lot of what you can get for cheap is cheesy open cell foam or glorified styrofoam. This roller is well covered, extremely comfortable, and yet resists my weight well enough to do the job.

Measurement.
Too small and too hard

Comfortable Size
The 4" diameter makes this roller easy and comfortable to use for several stretching/relaxing exercises that were challenging to do with a firmer 6" roller. Longer length also allows for easer stretches when positioned over the spine, not jus across the spine.
