Q: Has any body used this 1000ft Spool 14 AWG 80 Mil Jacket Monster Extreme Duty Dog Fence Wire? Is it compatible with PetSafe Yard Max PIG00-11115?

I have. I bought exactly this Yardsafe and that 1000ft spool of Extreme Dog fence wire. I did so in early May. It works. There are a couple of small caveats. You should consider getting the extreme dog fence 14 gauge pre-twisted pair wire for your loop-to-house and inside-away-from-service-panel connection. Twisting 90+ ft of wire of any gauge by yourself with a drill is a complete PITA. Now, it's $190+ of just wire between the two. But it does work. The other thing is that the terminals on the PetSafe transmistter and surge protector are way too cheapo and maddening for 14 gauge wire. What I did was wire nut the 14 gauge twisted pair ends to the kit included yellow 20 gauge (short dongles) and plug those into the connectors. I am still working the system with my Labrador. It's better than nothing, but I would say it's not a ringing endorsement. I will write a review as soon as I get comfortable with it.

Q: Is it worth the extra money to use stranded, more flexible, 14 gauge wire over solid core?

Best wire to use is 18 guage XLPE insulated stranded copper wire. It is specifically designed for loops, and gives a great signal.

Q: I have a barbed wire fence around my 8 acres. Can i clip the wire to the bottom barbed wire? 8 acres is alot of digging.

Thank you for your great question. With such a long fence, it may not be ideal to attach the wire directly to the fence. The reason for this is because such a long, large metal object may cause some interference with the fence's radio signal. Ideally, the wire should be at least 5 feet away from a metal fence.
