It is good for finding irons
It is good for finding irons. The only problem I have is that the buttons fell off after a few months of use. Wear and tear happens to quick on these.

Works for its task
I purchased this to find the survey pins before laying out a fence. Regular metal detectors are just too sensitive and pick up everything. It does what it is supposed to. Even found pins under blacktop.I had not realized how sensitive this would be to ferrous materials (fences and gates) close to the area where I expected to find pins. Had I known, I might have upgraded my purchase to one that has the ability to exclude things. However, this is now the second-most expensive tool I own. Only my table saw cost more.

Defective...
Power switch doesn't function out of the box, only able to turn it on by removing and reinstalling a battery. Contacted manufacturer for assistance, no response yet.
