A good quality car and motorcycle battery charger that can recondition older batteries
TLDR: This is a good quality car and motorcycle battery charger that could save you buying a replacement battery if your vehicle has been left standing for a while, or even if the battery isn't fully charging any more. It won't fix a broken battery, but it can recondition older or fully discharged batteries and so could save you money.FULL REVIEW: I couldn't find my old car battery charger when I needed it recently, so I looked at a few different models of charger and settled on this one as it appeared to have several useful features at a reasonable price. It's suitable for several types of car & bike battery and has a pulse charge function to recondition batteries which, like mine, have been discharged for a while. My car uses a start/stop battery which is an AGM type rather than a normal sealed lead acid battery, but these are more expensive to replace and need to be registered with my car's Engine Control Unit if they are changed. In both types of battery, it's normal for lead sulphate crystals to form whilst the battery is discharging and then dissolve as the battery is recharged. When a battery is left at a low charge for a while though, these crystals can harden and make it more difficult for the battery to hold a full charge - which is when a pulse charge is useful because it can dissolve those hardened crystals and recondition the battery. The charger itself is quite light as the main component is its small power supply which sits at the bottom of the orange plastic case and is fan cooled to stop it overheating. The battery clamps use thin wires that are designed to be pulled apart carefully so that each clamp is then the right distance apart for your battery or, in my case, the jump start/charging points under the bonnet. I must have read the user manual 3 or 4 times before using it because it's not been translated very well and a few bits of information are either missing or wrong, however it is quite simple to use and I'll share what I learned in the process of reconditioning my own battery.Like most chargers, you connect the red clamp to the positive terminal and then the black clamp to the negative terminal, then wait a moment and it will tell you the current charge state of your battery in 25% increments. If you then plug the charger into your power extension cable it will instantly start charging the battery using the first setting which is Car for normal sealed lead acid car batteries. Clicking the button on the centre right of the screen allows you to cycle through the other charging options which are AGM (start/stop batteries), Moto (motorcycle) and Repair (pulse). One thing not mentioned in the manual is that the Car, AGM & Motorcycle modes all start off displaying dES on the screen for a few minutes which is the desulphation phase of charging a battery before they then switch to the normal charging screen where the battery level indicator fills and drops whilst the numbers rotate through the temperature voltage and amperage of the charging session. Once a battery is fully charged then it will switch itself off and display FUL, and it has a built-in safety feature that turns itself off after 15-16 hours to avoid overcharging and potentially damaging the battery. However, it's always possible that a damaged battery won't be detected properly and so could overcharge causing a fire, which is why the manufacturer recommends not leaving it unattended whilst in use for long periods of time (i.e. overnight).I personally tried charging my battery over two days for between 8 & 12 hours each day, checking it every 20 minutes at the start and then around every 2 hours or so throughout the day. Although the battery charge level improved by about 25% each time, it never fully charged and wasn't holding that charge overnight so I then tried running in repair mode. The manual recommends running a repair for a minimum of 8 hours for a car battery and 5 hours for a motorcycle battery, and that a full repair cycle should be complete in about 20 hours. I ran this repair mode for 8 hours the third day and 12 hours the fourth day, then on the fifth day ran a normal charge cycle which finally fully charged the battery after just a few hours and stopped itself charging just like it's supposed to do. I checked the battery power level again the next day and this time it had held the charge. This pulse repair technology used to only be available on very expensive car chargers and is a built-in function for some military vehicles, so to have it now on a cheap charger like this one is fantastic. It's saved me having to pay a couple of hundred pounds for a new battery and I intend to do an 8-hour pulse repair on my battery a couple of times a year from now on to keep it in good condition and hopefully prolong the life of the battery.

Battery charger
Great quality and design, impressed with how quickly it changed my battery. Easy to use and one of my best buys this year.

Extremely fast battery charger.
Extremely fast battery charger. Cable length definitely needs to be longer as I have to use extension every time I charge my car battery.

Succeeded where others failed.
So with a dead car battery only registering 3.2 v and having tried my own ‘Smart’ Charger which returned errors due to it not being able to charge a battery registering less than 5 volts. (No longer a smart charger it now identifies as a lazy charger). I tried a traditional charger with no luck Before contemplating a new battery I thought I’d try another charger after reading reviews I opted for a well known branded charger but looking at cost I decided to go for this charger at only 25% the cost of the known branded charger. (((Both have the same specification/features apart from this on being rated 10/5 amps the branded 8/4 amps)))Results - Battery fully restored and operational. Tested with a my own tester and in my local garage with no issues.Yes all the leads positive, negative and the 13amp plug are shorter than ideal they are still long enough to use without difficulty. But aside from that it’s still a 5 star product.

A multi function smart battery charger, which can even help fix old lead acid batteries.
I can see that a lot of research has gone into this 12v 24v car battery charger, with the ability to chargelead-acid batteries, iron-lithium batteries, motor cycle batteries too, with a charging voltage in the range of DC14.2 to DC14.9v in 12 volt mode.I am impressed the way the makers have explained about old (possibly stubborn) lead-acid batteries that just cannot be charged, and this charger provides "Pulse Repair Function", this mode can be used to repair and activate the battery, which can reduce the vulcanization phenomenon to a certain extent and make it charge normally. As an extra bonus, This 10amp car charger battery has protections for: Short circuit, Overcurrent, Overheating, Low voltage, Overvoltage, Reverse Connection, and interestingly enough it can also detect changes in the seasonal temperature and adjust the voltage and the current Quickly and accordingly. It also has a charging function memory mode, which defaults to the state mode used before the last power failure.Such a great price too, very impressed indeed.I have a few batteries at home, one for motorcycle, one for my car (which is showing signs of aging), 2 more lead-acid leisure batteries which are indeed in need of some "TLC" with this charger, and also a large lithium 12 v battery used with solar panels, which is going to start "suffering somewhat" this winter with dark nights from 4pm onwards, so this charger will help to support all that too.Included are some images, and thank you again for a great most affordable product.
