Metabo HPT 18V MultiVolt 4-Piece Sub Compact Cordless Combo Kit

This set was a prime day deal & i couldnt resist, I have several older Hitachi tools, a portable table saw & a sliding compound miter saw, both still run strong, ya i know these are china manufactured but that doesn't rule them out for me, most stuff is, what matters from a quality of manufacturing perspective is the level of control over what leaves the factory, if the quality control is in place Chinese manufacturing can be very good, I just received them & haven't done any work with them yet, after i do I'll update this review, in my hands & my hands aren't big, there light & small like I never imagined they could make, jeez so nice for an older carpenter with less hand strength then a younger carpenter i can sure see the advantage in small size & weight. oh ya even the included storage bag is sweet, might actually use this one. UPDATE: I've been using these for some building & have a little more to add, the size is a big advantage & the power seems good, I drove some 5" lag bolts into thick fir posts and it has the power, I don't think it would be my go to for heavy work like this but it passed the test, did get hot indicating overwork, still working great, for general driving screws into wood its a nice little guy, the chuck requires 2 hands to load, old style that requires retracting the collar to load the bit, no belt clip & that's kind of annoying, so small you can get half of it in your pocket, the drill has power way beyond its size but no belt clip, once i use the others Ill add more to this.

Small and light.Comes with the one handed sawzall that takes jigsaw blades which I think is about the best tool ever made.The multitool blade change sucks and it's only okay as a multitool.The low price point impacts are kind of goofy. Sometimes it's like some of them downshift and don't want to work right but it's good as a spare.The drill that comes with these kits is shockingly good and tiny. Most of the time I'm using this in place of the big, bad 18 and 36v monsters and not minding a slight lack of power.Catch em on sale in the fall and you usually get a free battery with the rebate program.

Everything works great the only item I have issues with is the hand held Sawzall. It doesn't have the cutting power like Kobalt

I've used plenty of home DIY tools. I can say that these are more powerful and last longer than Ryobi. I'd put these on par with Kobalt but with a longer batter life.One of the nicest things is that the ergonomics are incredible. When you hold one of these, it feels like it belongs in your hand.Very powerful as well. When you pull the trigger on the drivers just holding it in your hand, it will twist your wrist. Fantastic torque. I'm all in on these guys now. I can't wait until I get my next one.

I have had the Hitachi ( Now Metabo HPT ) tools for a long time and decided to add to my tools with this collection.. When it arrived in a plain brown box I opened it to find the Metabo box destroyed on one end , tore down the seam, and the 2 security tapes cut .. This looked to have been opened ( Maybe for inspection or maybe returned ) who knows.. Well I opened the box and took inventory to see if anything was missing and then started testing the tools to see if they were all ok... When I got to the Multitool I found it was defective ( making a loud grinding noise... I repacked everything and sent it back... If the box was that beat up from Metabo then Amazon SHOUD have sent it back to them and NOT sold it.. I'm really on the fence if I will reorder this and hope I get one in decent shape...
