Super microphone. The 'scooped' frequency response lends itself nicely to mic up bass whichis my intended use.Seems to have a tight cardioid pattern which is ideal, be sure to check positioning though and havefound it's possibly better to place it a little further away from your cab, perhaps 9".As a vocal mic (not by design) gives a rich "bass and treble" boosted sound with little popping,proximity effect is surprisingly good and even.Delighted..

For the money, this is the best kick drum mic on the planet. Placed 12 inches in front of the front drum skin, you'll pic up amazing frequencies with no need for a sub kick mic.

amazing mic. bang for buck it's as good as they come. especially good for mounting right inside a bass drum. you can figure out the best sweet spot and affix an internal mount.

even though this was expensive its now an essential part of my sound engineer set. hardly any eqing required when using, all the punch youlll ever need and the price was fair for what this mike delivers

Unless you actually like your bass drum to sound like a cardboard box (d112) or a muffled lifeless thump (beta 52), the D6 is the mic for you. It’s natural response requires almost no eq. Works in the studio and live. I own 2 and I bring them to gigs when I play 2 kick drums and, unless I’m playing a venue of considerable size and quality, they don’t have anything better on hand... or 2 kick mics at all. You can probably buy a better kick mic for a lot more money, but you’d be hard pressed to get a useable one for any less. Of the standard choices, I will only use this one for close mic of a ported drum. Engineers have tried to use other mics on my drums, but a quick A/B test and they’ve all come around and agreed that my D6 sounds better than whatever they wanted to use. You can’t argue with the sound.
