Simple and super quality
The Foot print Glazer/ putty knife is simple and very sturdy and made in Sheffield. The knife arrived very sharp which I like although sharp is not really needed for cleaning out windows it majes it a useful utility knife ,log splitter etc. I made a simple sheaf out of card and Gorilla tape to protect the blade

A sharp and sturdy tool for a bargain price.
When the heavy duty knife arrived I had to de-burr it with a couple of strokes of my kitchen knife "Steel". That did the job and was easy to do (this is not unusual with most new knifes, except for the most expensive Japanese knives.) I then honed it with a strop, half a dozen strokes each side was enough to give a very sharp edge.To be honest, this is probably the best new knife I've purchased for a long time.No matter the use you intend for this knife, it's a quality knife at a bargain price. In my opinion you can't go wrong with this knife. Well worth purchasing.

Good solid tool but handle uncomfortable
This tool is mainly intended for use by glaziers hacking off the putty and glass when clearing a window surround before fitting a new pane. I used it to remove carefully decorative wooden trim round a door panel. The knife was very good at cutting through the pins used to secure the trim. It works well at this job. However I found the handle, consisting of two pieces of hard leather, rather uncomfortable. It may soften with grease and use.

A Blunt Instrument That's Sharp?
I'm no glazier, mine was bought to do any low-precision jobs that might need some brute force and harsh language. I like the rough finish, it's not an item that will be polished and displayed. My only criticisms aren't related to its ability to cut or its strength. There's another hacking knife available on Amazon, and it also has a cutting edge that extends into the grip area. I'm not a fan of that, and one day I'll get round to grinding it off. Just personal preference, there's probably a good reason for the design that a window expert would know, but it's my knife. Also, I find the handle a little short, with only enough space for three and a half fingers. The leather's staying put at the moment, but if it comes off it'll be replaced with something a couple of cm longer. In all, a good purchase and will be replaced by another if it ever gets lost or 'borrowed'.

What an AMAZING TOOL !
This is my third Footprint Hacking Knife, since two previous were "snatched" by my friends after they saw it in action ( camping, survival trips ) XDYes - you need it. Its like an axe but you can fit it inside your pocket !You can bash it with hammers, stones and everything else - and because its quite heavy, you can just use it as a mini axe by itself.its great as a crowbar, log splitter, bark remover, nut opener, wood carvers' aid for roughing jobs, and plenty more. Thanks for making it!

As rugged as promised, but a beauty lies beneath
Bought this for its similarity to a rigging knife, relying on the high strength, full tang blade as a solid basis for modification. The handle is simply two pieces of leather which are riveted onto either side. These are crude, it's fair to say, but for other purposes could be shaped with another sharp knife to be kinder on the hands. The knife itself is very solid, and the blade takes a keen edge with little sharpening.

Needs work to fix issues.
Out the packaging the knife is horrible, huge burr on blades edge and handle is really uncomfortable.Bit of work sharpening the blade properly, a paracord handle for a better more comfortable grip and it should make a pretty decent crude camp knife. All it needs now is a sheath for safer carrying.Would I say it's worth £16 though???No, 10-12 at most for how basic it is.

Rather disappointing
Unfortunately this ended up getting returned. Not worth the price. For me the handle is too short. The blade is blunt on delivery and had a noticeable burr. The handle is not well fitted to the tang with large overhangs. The handle is plastic despite it being called leather several times in the description. There are much much better knives that do everything that this one does way better for the same price point.
