The top of the oyster completely separated before adult could remove from very difficult packaging. Very disappointed 4 year old. Complete rip off for $15. I noticed many 5 star reviews are from Amazon Vine reviewers who received the product for free. Don’t buy this - for a few more dollars there are much better brands available.

My son loves this, he likes the ones where you have to dig the bones out of the sand. He had a blast getting the bones out of the gel. I love how much less of a mess this thing is than those others. It was easy enough for him to get it out of the gel but they are still a bit of work which is kind of the point. Great toy if your children like the thrill of discovery!

My daughter absolutely loves these kits! She thinks it's so cool to learn about the animals and of course I love that she's into anything related to learning about science! She loves slime so the gel-like part of these things is right up her ally, and this keeps her busy for a while. She asks a lot of questions about which bones are which and the more we do, the more she seems to learn and retain.

I love toys like this that spark a child's curiosity and allows them to learn by doing. My nearly seven year old grandson is constantly digging into things, curious about what's inside. He's done other kits, such as geodes that offer fossils or crystals inside, but as a dinosaur enthusiast I am certain he's going to love cracking into this too! Comes with a great book with details too!
