Hello, The 3L container can store 3.15L liquid nitrogen, The 6L container can store 6.7L liquid nitrogen, The 10L container can store 10.8L liquid nitrogen, The liquid nitrogen tank can be used for transporting LN2 for cooking projects, but you must fix it and place it vertically. Do not let the dewar accidentally dump during transportation, which will cause danger.

Q: What happens if I don't pre-cool the container, prior to filling it, for the first time? Will it damage the dewar?

No it will not. In fact, the first time you fill it cools it down and the LN2 will quickly evaporate until you get it cool enough to stabilize. Once it cools and is filled it will last over a month before needing to be topped off. I suggest to initially put around 3 liters LN2 in a 10 L tank to cool it down. It might take 20 L of LN2 to fill it the first time due to evaporation during the cooling phase.
