Works great to connect HDMI monitor to USB C port
This adapter works great to connect a HDMI monitor to one of the two USB C ports on my Surface Laptop running Windows 11. I also have a dual port adapter to connect 2 more HDMI monitors to the remaining USB C port on my Surface Laptop.

It is the only thing that worked
Don't waste time and money. This was the only way I could get a Microsoft Surface to connect to multiple external monitors.

Worked Perfectly!
I tried two other USB-A to HDMI adapters for my Surface Pro 7. Neither of those worked. But this device, coming off the Surface USB-C port to HDMI has worked perfectly. It cost more than the USB-A to HDMI devices, but worth the money. I'd buy again.

Works great on my Surface Book 2 --> HDMI 2.0 / 4K = NO WAY!!!
Ok. Time for a lesson in bandwidth. This little guy is GREAT for what it does. It is a USB-C to HDMI 2.0 device allowing you to connect your MS Surface to a display / TV.HOWEVER -- my Surface Book 2 USB-C port is ONLY USB3.1 gen1 which is 5Gbps max (less if you count the USB overhead). So what about HDMI?HDMI 1.4 = 10.8Gbps (1080p 120hz / 4K 30hz)HDMI 2.0 = 18.2Gbps (1080p 240hz / 4k 60hz)So what you have is a wide open HDMI spec, limited by the Surface Book 2's USB-C port which is 50% LESS than even the OLDER HDMI spec.Long story short -- on my Surface Book 2, it will max at 1080p 60hz and produce that limited resolution on a 4K display -- all because of the USB-C 3.1 gen1 port on my device. Perhaps later Surface Book's will use better interfaces, but even the Surface Book 3 USB-C port is USB 3.1 gen 2 = 10Gbps (1080p 120hz / 4K 30hz). IF you want 4k 60hz, it won't happen on a Surface Book 2 or 3 -- > look for a Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 device -- those are either 20Gbps or 40Gbps depending on their controller and more suited for 4K 60hz and higher. This is why Microsoft labeled this item as "HDMI 2.0 compatible" and "4K ready" --> sure it will work because of backward compatibility, AND no way it will produce the expected results. Again, if you wanted 4K 60hz, you need a device other than the Surface which has either HDMI 2.0, Displayport 1.3, or Thunderbolt 3/USB4.NOTE: I have not researched the DOCKING STATION, but I suspect there is more bandwidth from the proprietary Microsoft Surface power interface which might allow better 4K 60hz displaysFinally, any other manufacturer's USB-HDMI adapter won't give any better performance. The bottleneck is in the Surface USB-C port.

Comes in handy!
It’s a little pricey, but it’s dependable and does the job well. I use it with my Surface Pro 8 and it has not given me any problems. Very easy to use.

USB-C connectivity for Surface Pro
This works as expected and requires minimal space for travel. The only concern is that it is small and one will need to be careful not to leave it behind.
