The Pink Panther 2 [DVD]

Excellent
Anyone who dislikes Steve Martin as the hilarious inspector is either butthurt about the remakes of an already fantastic series or lives a miserable life. Both 1 and 2 were excellent and Steve Martin along with the rest of the cast mould together just nicely. A funny, well shot film with plenty of slap stick fun for the family. The cast is a multicultural cast / characters of Indian, Japanese, French, Italian and English which was a breath of fresh air. The so called "racism," someone has used as a way to low rate the film in another review is ridiculous. The jokes regarding race, sex, hair colour (dumb blonde etc) are simply their to show the inspectors innocent ignorance and slight arrogance, but is not exactly racism nor offensive. I doubt if the film was racist, any of the cast would have signed up for it.Some people are either far too sensitive or looking for an excuse to low rate because they get a kick out of it. Unleash the big kid in you, and give it a go. It is a joy to watch.

The Tornado strikes Pink Panther
I love Steve Martin and I love how he steps into the character of Inspector Clouseau and put his own brand of physical humour into it. IMHO the Pink Panther 2 was just as good if not better than PP1 with Steve Martin.Confession time- I already own the DVD of this movie but over the years it has gotten damaged from being played so much. So when I saw that the BluRay copy was being sold for such a good price, I jumped at the chance to upgrade and purchase a more durable and better quality version. It took almost 2.5 weeks to send from Sweden to Australia. The anticipation made the delivery more exciting when it finally arrived.I finished watching my new BR copy last night and enjoyed the crispness and clarity of the images. I even got to watch it with Norwegian subtitles just for the fun of it.If you want a light hearted movie with a star studded cast, this is one worth watching.

Good one!
Being a long time fan of the original Peter Sellers films I was thrilled to bits with Steve Martin's own unique take on this classic character. Thoroughly entertaining! If you're in two minds about buying this - then don't be. Just buy it! You will regret it rien!

A fantastic film!
The Pink Panther 2 is a film that has been feared by many since the release of the 2006 film 'The Pink Panther', but it ain't all that bad.Firstly it improves greatly on the first Steve Martin film and if see it with an open mind you'll enjoy it. Peter Sellers he ain't, but Steve Martin plays the role of Clouseau with affection.Positives- The film is much better than the 2006 one and certainly much better than 'Son of the Pink Panther', 'Trail of the Pink Panther' and maybe even 'Revenge of the Pink Panther' where the series started to become stale.- There are a number of good laughs in the film especially with the Political Correctness lessons.- John Cleese is the best thing in this film and is excellent for the role of Dreyfuss.- There are references to the early films with Clouseau's apartment looking similar to the one in Seller's films. There is also an attack scene in the apartment too, which is quite funny even if it is by Pontons kids.- The opening Animated sequence has to be the best since 'Revenge of the Pink Panther'.- There is also reference to the only funny scene in the previous film, with Hamburger been used as a security password.- Adults and kids will love it!Negatives- The film tries too hard to be funny and goes over the top, especially with the wine bottle juggling scene not even funny and the computer animation is rubbish.- There is no Kato- Clouseau is actually too daft and silly really even down to the way he walks.- The film should aimed more at an adult audienceBut all in all this is a good film, and has been critised quite heavily due to the fact that it stars the character that Peter Sellers made famous but if you watch it with an open mind you'll love it!

Not as good as the first version.
This version fails to raise the laughter of the first and in many ways, in my opinion, is spoiled by the inclusion of John Cleese as a pretend French Policeman. His head banging really has been overdone.

Comedy genius
I didn't think that Peter Sellers could be matched but Steve Martin manages to be genuinely funny and absurd at the same time.
