Easy setup and very accurate
The clock arrived securely packaged and easy to unpack. On the back of the clock, the works are protected by a large round plastic cover that was difficult to remove. I had to pry around the edges with a screwdriver until I was able to twist the cover off. Just a minor issue. We will leave the cover off for easier access to batteries in the future. Starting the clock was just as the directions stated. Upon plugging in the clock battery, the hands advanced automatically to 4:00, within a few minutes. They held in that position. According to the instructions, once the signal is received (which might take up to 5 days), the clock advances to the correct position. I left it out overnight, aimed generally toward Colorado. By the next morning, my clock was set to the right time in the Pacific Time Zone. I pressed the button for the Eastern Time Zone, and the clock automatically spun ahead to the correct time there, taking only a few minutes to arrive at the correct time. Regarding accuracy: On the hour, the minute hand is very directly pointing to the 12. Only if I look closely will I see it is off position by about 1 mm. During each minute, the minute hand advances every 15 seconds, exactly at the quarter minute according to my cell phone. There is a slightly audible click when the minute hand advances each time, but I don't notice the sound unless I am paying attention to it. Although I would prefer a sweep second hand, the click is so accurate I feel it is enough accuracy in my most demanding situations. The jury is still out regarding battery life, and I will update this review after the battery dies. I am hoping the battery will last at least through the beginning and end of the next DST cycle, as my other atomic clocks have done. These others have smaller movements so time will tell.

How can you not have an Atomic Wall Clock
I love the fact that I may only change the battery every 1.5 years ... and these clocks keep perfect time. No more getting out the ladder every spring or fall when we have a time change...the clock automatically changes during Daylight Savings Time. We have 4 of these clocks in our home, all different styles, yet all La Crosse, due their eye appeal, accuracy and dependability.

Lasted only one summer
Worked great (placed on an outside wall under an overhang) for one summer. The clock was stored inside for the winter. Put new batteries in and pushed the button (it took a couple times) to get the clock to display the correct time but it seemed to work. We did notice rust around the base of all the hands on the clock and a bit of fog under the glass. The clock worked for approximately one week before we noticed the second hand fell right off. We attempted to fix it but discovered the timer has completely stopped and now we have to get another clock. It's too bad because it looked great and the time was easy to read but one summer is absolutely unacceptable.

Great clock, deficient instructions
This clock does everything it is supposed to do and is quite attractive. I took away one star because the directions fail in a major way. They don't state HOW to get the back cover off the battery box. It might screw on, pop off, or ??? It turns out you need to turn the cover a bit to the left, and then pull it off. You shouldn't have to worry about breaking a new purchase for lack of directions.

Works great
I had one of these in my yard for almost 20 years. It finally failed. I replaced it with this same model. At my location, it picked up the WWV radio time signal right away. It remains spot on. I hope it lasts as long as its predecessor.

Amazing clocks keep perfect time
I have purchased 4 La Crosse atomic wall clocks to date -- 3 for indoors and this one for my deck. All of them keep perfect time. The thermometer seems to be accurate; hard to evaluate the hygrometer for accuracy. These clocks are great! Wish the outdoor version came in a smaller size, as 18" is a bit large.
