Nespresso XN740540 Nespresso Citiz Coffee Machine, 1260 W, Cherry Red by Krups

Can't fault it. Had it 2 years now and it still works brilliantly and looks like new. Easy to clean. Doesn't leak. A little noisy, but not that bad. Would definitely recommend.

I am a big fan of milky coffees so was looking for a machine to produce a good latte and this does just that. I'm not so keen on espresso however I have found myself drinking a lot more of the lungo from the Nespresso range and this machine will allow you adjust the volume of water for the drink to set the right amount for your taste or cup size.The machine is good looking and sits nicely among our other kitchen goods (black and silver). It is easy to clean as it all comes apart and if you live in a hard water area like we do then the descaling process is easy and it keeps the machine working perfectly. So when we were looking to put another machine in our holiday home I went straight back to this machine.

This is a quality product, and although relatively expensive, it's definitely worth paying that little bit more. Every visitor to my home remarks on the excellent coffee it produces, no matter what strength they require. Just one warning, this is manufactured in Europe and therefore comes with a European plug. So, make sure you buy an adaptor at the same time, which is not an inconvenience, as it not detrimental to the machine's performance in any way.

Edited update from my initial review - approx 6 weeks. Today is 26/1/3018.I am just drinking my first latte of the morning and felt compelled to add to my old review.I love this coffee machine. Every cup is perfect. It looks really smart in my kitchen and it’s so easy to use and look after. I can’t belive I waited so long to get one!I love it! I adore my new coffee machine.It looks great & more importantly it's very easy to use & my coffee tastes great.The milk heater & frother is awesome as I like my coffee hot so being able to add warm milk is a fantastic bonus.Setting the volume of your choice was easy & I like that the pod doesn't eject until you want it to so that you can top up if you wish.Easy to empty & clean. I'm a very happy girl ❤️

The Nespresso Citiz is a useful and compact coffee machine. It takes little space on the kitchen worktop.Pros:Heats up the water in 25sec so your coffee will be ready in 45secVariety of coffee flavours available in Nespresso and Nespresso compatible podsThere are compatible pods even for tea (Teapresso), herbal tea and hot chocolateAll items including the Aerocino are easy to cleanConsThere are no Costa or Costa coffee compatible pods (unlike Tassimo)You have to be very careful with how much milk you put in in the Aerocino. If you fill it to the maximum mark, once the milk frother finishes you will find some milk spilled/splattered on your worktop.Minor Issue: One of the pods that I received in the sample was used, which is weird as the box containing the pods was sealed (see photo).Overall it is a great product but I have not tested it yet with compatible pods.Update: tested it with compatible pods by using a Tea bag content. Works fine. I flushes the previous coffee taste twice by pressing the Lungo button without placing a pod in the machine. I then placed the compatible pod (with the tea bag content) in the machine. Overall, the taste of the tea that came out is bland and a bit diluted/watery so I will stick to my old method of preparing tea for the time being. I wil buy Costa ground coffee for the compatible pods and let you know the outcome.

This machine is excellent, easy to use and maintain. I'm. it one of those people that can taste lemon, cloves, orange peel or fairy poo in my coffee, but i tend to like coffee if you know what i mean. Aldi sell nespresso compatible pods for pennies and they are as good as the selection pods provided with this (they are called grand cru's! How pretentious!) I tried an aldi one with a discerning friend and told her it was a grand cru with over tones of cassia bark and she thought it was amazing (not told her the truth yet, don't want to shatter her pretentious world). The milk frother is brilliant too!

Bought this machine about a month ago and we all absolutely love it 😍 it’s used every day many times. We used the frothed to begin with, but have found the coffee also tastes really really good if you heat a third of a glass coffee mug of milk for 1 minute in the microwave. And fill with strong coffee. It’s beautiful. I’ve also been using compatible capsules which I’ve found to be really good. If you’re thinking of buying one you won’t be let down. It’s so easy in every way and holds loads of water.
