Good when learning the clean
These provide a little bit of protection for the wrists while learning the kettlebell clean. The plastic protection plate is small, but it covers the critical portion of the wrist where the kettlebell should land. Once you perfect you clean technique, you should not need these. But they will save you some bruising for the first few weeks. They also keep sweat from dripping down your arms onto your hands, which is a plus during log sets.It is a little tricky to figure out which way around to put them on. The plastic plate is slightly tapered, with the small edge towards the hand. On mine, that ended up meaning that I put them on in the opposite way to the little diagram stitched onto the wrist guard. I found this confusing. A clear "hand side" and "arm side" designation would be nice. They are not tight enough to provide any extra stability during pressing.Hardstyle kettlebells change size as their weight increases, so the catch position for the clean will change a little with each increment. I recommend getting an adjustable competition style kettlebell. It is the same shape from 12kg to 32kg, so it will always sit on your wrist in the same position. The Bells of Steel one is my current favorite: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BJ7KNFBPIf your wrists are hurting from pressing, these will not help you. You will need compression style wraps like these Bear Grips: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BVCLNGJG). They also provide some protection during the clean, but it is not their primary purpose.

Eliminates a lot of pain on forearms!
I had quite a few physical therapy sessions in the last few years where I had to do overhead kettlebell lifts while walking. The worst part wasn't the weight but the kettlebell rubbing against the back of my forearms. These arm guards are basically large sweat bands with a plastic insert that distributes the pressure of the weight over a larger surface area instead of concentrating it at the small contact point. They do a great job and make the exercises a lot more comfortable. Hopefully they last for quite a while. Simple product but very effective!
