Basic Wooden Checker/Chess Board - Made in USA

This is just a great chess board. Love that it is made in the US. Very sturdy and straight, no bow or twisting whatsoever. All the edges are well sanded, the clear spray finish is well applied, and the printed checked pattern is clean, solid, and sharp. High quality American product, very satisfying.The only drawback is that the board will scuff surfaces it is used on. In my second picture l applied leftover adhesive felt and it completely solves the issue. 4 simple round pads in the corner would fix it, $2 at the most. Absolutely recommend this board, great quality, great size, and keeps Americans employed.My third picture shows it with chess pieces bought here on Amazon as well, check my review on those. The king is 3 1/4" tall and the bases are 1" diameter. As you can see this board is large enough to handle almost any chess set and do so with understated style.

It’s a very nice chessboard and works well with 2-3/4” to 3” King chessmen. The rich black squares against the natural wood provide a strong contrast. Made in USA!

This product is very well made - you can easily spend twice as much on chessboards that aren't as nice. Great looking wood, nice inlay on the black squares, everything laser cut. Beautiful.

The board is sturdy and elegant in its simplicity. Great match for my vintage Ganine GOTHIC chess set I just acquired. The down side is the horrible packaging done by AMAZON. Board is wrapped in thin plastic (not even in a box) by manufacturer, so I received the board in an oversized box with one sheet of paper stuffed over the top of the board not even wrapped around it. Shocked board wasn't damaged in transit, the corners are chamfered (no sharp edges) otherwise I'm sure something have been damaged. I've previously purchased a larger board from another company which while more expensive, at least protected their board for shipping. Roll the dice and take your chances.

First, I want to give a shout-out to the fact this was made in Vermont, which makes it a 5 in my book right away. It is well-made and the squares are a little larger than a standard chess board, which is why I bought it. My son was making special chess pieces for his son on a 3-D printer and the bases were too larger for a typical board. This board was perfect--beautiful and the right size squares. It was a hit.

Real wood, basic board just too small at 15 inches. I wish this board was made for tournament sized pieces. Like 20-21 inches

Very nicely done. I am sure the board will be used regularly for both chess and checkers and I am confident it will last a lifetime. The size of the board (15" X 15") and the square size (1-5/8" X 1-5/8") is just right. It will work very well on a coffee or card table and accommodate very nice medium to large sized checkers or chess pieces which are much better for smaller, little people hands which helps them learn much, much easier.
