I have an older Wayne-Dalton garage door opener and the house came without an opener. I can buy a $40 opener that may or may not be programmable to the door, or I can buy a remote control switch like this one and hook the door switch across the NO contacts and program the receiver to momentary, or as they call it in the instructions, "inch mode"Regarding the programming-the first step is to erase the programming. Do it, or it won't program properly. Once I worked that out it programmed just how it wanted, one click closes the switch and then opens it like a door button switch. One push opens the door and another closes. If you can get it for the same price I did it's the cheapest way to go.BTW, some people are using these to wire up auxilary lights on vehicles. No need to drill a hole for a switch wire, and the relay is built in. I might try that next.

I used this to control the power to a camera mounted on the front of my truck. The A button turns it on and the B button turns it off.

I used it to replace the bad reciever on my garage door opener.

My goal for this product was to trigger it using my car built-in Homelink system. However, Despite many attempts, I was unable to get this functionality to work.It does not operate on the same protocol that a standard remote transmitter work on, and therefore it is not supported by Homelink.That said, if you’re not intending to fire it from a third-party remote, then the device works perfectly and as intended

I love these wireless relay switches. I use these all the time. They are definitely something any DIYer who like electronics should have in their toolbox. My last switch I got, I used to power my fog lights on my car. This switch I'm using with a light for a remote control car. My neighborhood is infested with coyotes. I got a remote control car. I used it to scare them off when I walked my dog or brought him to the park. I usually walk my dog at night, and it can be hard to see, especially the wooded area at the park. I decided to get a small solar powered light to attach to the roof of my RC car. The problem was that I couldn't turn it off remotely. If a car drove by, I would blind them. I got this kit so I can turn the light on and off remotely. I like that this unit is smaller and more compact than the last switch i got. This allows me to easily store it in the RC car. I like that you can wire it in different ways depending on your needs. The remote has a pretty long reach. It reaches as far as my RC car can go. Now, I can light up the field and woods to check for coyotes before I bring my dog down there. If you want a long-range compact switch with a remote, give this a try.
