Bought for my son
Battery life is about 3-5 minutes before needing a 30-40 minute charge, but it does come with 2 batteries so I guess that’s a plus. My son loves using it without the controller, so it’s definitely not all bad. It goes really fast on a full charge.

Nice toy but defective or broken pinion gear.
The truck works with this defective pinion gear positioned with the missing tooth away from the rack, which is why we didn’t notice the problem right away. The pinion skipped in a collision, after which steering didn’t work. I can reorient the gear and it works until we crash hard enough to skip the pinion gear again. It’s been nice showing my grandson how to fix it, but I’d like to order a replacement gear and have been unable to get in touch with someone who might sell us one. I’m hoping someone will contact me. I’m happy to pay for the new part.

Low End RC Truck That Works
This is a decent little low-end RC truck. First the likes:The truck looks cool. It's a fire rescue monster truck with large, rubber-like tires and a spring suspension. It is easy to drive and operate the sound effects. On the negative side, you really need a small screwdriver to remove this from the package and install the batteries. With as many as you need to remove and reinstall, it would be nice if they had included a small screwdriver. The controller requires two AA batteries (not included). It does however include two rechargeable truck batteries. The controller is low-end and is simple to operate. You have to first turn on the truck. The switch is hidden under the body of the truck in the rear. When you power up the truck the headlights flash. When you turn on the remote by pushing the button in the middle, a red indicator light comes on the remote and the headlights on the truck stop flashing. You then need to press the left index finger button for the truck to "crank". It is then ready to run. You push the let thumb control up to go forward and back to go back. You turn with the right controller. The right index finger controller turns on the siren and air horn noises. You can turn off the truck running sounds by hitting the left index finger control again.Overall, this is a fun truck for younger kids. I've had fun running it through the house this afternoon.Update: My grandson had a great time playing with this today. He's not very good at driving so he wrecked it many times. The water cannon on top got destroyed almost immediately and the ladder got broken after an hour or two. Lots of adults enjoyed playing with it as well. It works amazingly well for the way it was abused today. I still can't give it five stars, but if there was a 4.5 I would give it that.

Cool car, great sounds, moves well but remote lacks soft touch
I got this monster fire truck for my son who loves cars particularly monster truck types and he had a blast playing with it. When he first opened it, he was so happy as he loves big tires. The tires on the car are rubber and moves well indoors. Can pretty much go over most things. The truck is well-design and makes an awesome revving and emergency sound. It also has lights although it's only on the front headlights. Would of been better if the lights were also on the sirens on the top of the car since it looks like they have the housing design for it. This truck came with 2 rechargable batteries that hook up via a clip. It only needs one of the batteries to operate which is great as you can charge one while playing with the other. The remote uses AA batteries so make sure you have some on hand. The controls on the remote works but is not the best. It's actually quite rough on touch and to operate. For small kids hands they make struggle or not like it. Overall, very cool car to play with. Great toy gift for any kids who loves monster trucks.
